This IS the heat board right? *checks* ok yea, it seems like these Mavs fans are proping roddy as the new big thing. He reminds me a little of Jason Terry. Mavs would be foolish not to have traded Roddy for Joe Johnson if they had the chance. He can't be that good, we'll see in a year, once he gets more playing time.

I would just like to have because hes 22 with upside and is better than the 1 PG we have.

No, seriously though...I'll quit mentioning Wade if you quit mentioning Roddy....cuz neither are being traded.

Damn, didn't realize Mav fans ran the Heat board.

Haywood would be a helluva fit for you guys if Bosh signs... I'd take a chance with Beasley, but as my fellow Mavs fans wrote, no way Dallas trades Roddy at this point unless... Or at least i'd be shocked. Fans are mostly homers, but this kid (Roddy B.) has unreal physical tools, with an already borderline unstoppable offensive game. He's the first rookie in the history of the NBA who put up 50/40/80 percentages.

He scored the ball anytime he got a chance, against anybody, not just scrubs. Funny as it sounds, i wouldn't give him up for Beasley. It's not your ordinary Nr.2 pick for Nr.25... For example, Roddy is a clearly better prospect than Johnny Flynn, who were taken at 6... GM's just screwed up big time, and our FO also did a good job to hide the kid.

Sure because we want Johnson's awful hideous contract right...and Cubes is our owner all makes sense right.

Also add to the fact that Johnson isn't much of an upgrade over Butler then we would have a huge logjam at the SG-SF positions....

He's really that good... Talent is not everything, but the kid is as talented as it gets. Jet is one of my fave, but Roddy can already do things Jet never been able to do...

Just take a look at this. Mixes are usually misleading, but the kid did those things every other game, and if you think that he did all this in only 12 minutes a game, that's really amazing.

Find me the post where I reference Roddy and i'll paypal you all the money in my bank account.

Stop freaking out, Roddy's name was mentioned as SPECULATION (not as something given by sources) by a writer in the Herald so a few posters on this board commented on how great that would be if we could land them. There's nothing beyond that.

well i was think this supposed trade was before JJ re-signed or something, but yea completely forgot JJ signed a horrible 6 year MAX contract. But still depends on how much you guys value Roddy.

My fault Lane but I'm saying give Beasley this year if he get's his act together than keep him , if not we trade him but I have a strong feeling we will regret losing a SF/PF hybrid who hasn't reached his peak yet . Roddy too is 22 wht makes ppl thing him and Wade will co-exist but Haywood for JO I would do since Bosh and JO can't co-exist .
CHI BULLS
PG - Michael Carter - Williams , Jerian Grant
SG- DWYANE WADE , Denzel Valentine

Your ego is astounding. Wright averaged 20mpg last season to get those numbers. Roddy? 12mpg.

In future, when you go making craptacular statements that seem to favour your "argument", make sure you throw out "all the facts".

As for Roddy in question, I bet my bottom dollar that the Roddy interest is coming from Miami and Miami only. Dallas won't trade him unless we recieve a superstar talent back (through a package, which is what jcl was trying to state before heat fans such as "tim hardaway" started throwing words into his/her mouth). No Maverick fan in their right mind would ever expect a Roddy/Wade straight up swap.

I hope you're talking about Jose, because Roddy is 6'2, with an unreal 6'11 wingspan, and a 42-44'' vertical. He came second in the "top of the backboard" test last draft behind only Blake Griffin. That means, he almost outjumped, outreached (is this a proper word, lol?) a 6'10 freak athlete. He's as fast as anybody in this league, can jump out of the gym, can finish with either hands, and as i said has an already borderline unstoppable offensive game, he can make the three, the floater, step back jumper, and can finish sneaky layups with either hands. I honestly think even if you ignore Beasley's mental mindset, they're still close as prospects, possibly Roddy's even better. Again, GM's just screwed up.

lol .. you are the one who does not seem to be "throwing out" all the facts. You just quoted the first sentance from his post and conveniently ignored where he notes that RB's per 40 #s were pretty good.

Anyways .. regarding the other Mavs poster who pointed out what a great prospect he was before the draft and how all the GMs did not read the correct scouting reports (or whatever other reason they had for passing on him).. I went and checked DX and here is what they had to say on him - http://www.draftexpress.com/profile/Rod ... 298/stats/

Best case: Ronnie Price

any chance of just signing Booz and Hayward and still keeping Beasley?

Call me crazy but beasley wouldn't look too bad alongside Hayward, booz and wade. perhaps he will put more effort on the defensive end of the floor

These Mavs fans are pretty annoying, too bad Roddy wasn't there to help you guys in 06'. Please go back to your board.

J. O'Neal is better than Haywood. JO can block shots and give Miami presence in the post together with his perimeter shooting. Haywood assets is more on defense. Then if Miami trade JO for Haywood, why is the sweetener worth Beasley? Isn't that too much for Miami to give? If Heat wants to dump Beasley, at least its better to a team who offered their cap space and 1st pick during the draft?

I'm a Thunder fan, just want to say that I hope that this trade does not go through because the Mavs fans are acting like ungrateful SOB's.

Giving up scrubs (Roddy is OK) to get a great young talent like Beas AND JO. You should accept and run yet you're crying about this deal.

Return to Miami Heat
