Kind of hard to say no to a quarter billion. Also, he seems content being the one man band of a low pressure/low expectation team. The hell with him though Wizards will remain division fodder for us for a while to come

sadly here we are. the heat fails to make an impression for some reason

maybe its political? maybe its economical (small market, though the fan base its huuuuge) maybe its none of that, its just that our players dont shine enough in the spotlight

who knows the real reasons??

While it sucks, I don’t think it’s egregious

The league’s just simply the most talented that it’s ever been. A good time for some expansion teams

1st and 2nd team were 100 % correct.
So its down to the 2 fowards spots in 3rd team. I agree with Siakam over Butler, played 11 more games and had better numbers.
So now its down to LBJ vs Butler. LBJ with far better numbers but far worse team success. I can see why Bron took that spot since it's an individual award. You can make the argument for Butler but I don't see any conspiracy here. Butler missed a ton of games and other stars had better individual performances.
If we were including the post season when looking at ALL NBA then Butler makes it in, no questions.

I think both Bam & Butler missing significant time during this season hurt their chances for individual awards. Had Herro missed significant amount of gm's I doubt he wins 6th man.

Warriors in the finals, league will want this one wrapped up tomorrow. Doesn’t matter I’m sure we’ll shoot 4-60 from 3

I started writing this trade option and even I don't think it is balanced enough, but the guts of it was:
- Would Lakers want our bad contracts of Lowry and Duncan, because Lowry if healthy fits with LeBron, and they might chance health over fit of Westbrook, and Duncan may be hidden on D with Anthony Davis in the middle, and be valuable for LeBron?
- Would Herro be attractive enough a young player if Portland decided they wanted to move on from Lillard? Of course assuming we gave em some other young talent and picks and took other salary.
- the three way trade would be allowing Portland to take and waive Westbrook and clear cap

Miami gets (61.8):
Damian Lillard 42.4
Eric Bledsoe 19.4

Miami gives (56.2):
Kyle Lowry 28.3
Duncan Robinson 16.9
Tyler Herro 5.7
Omer Yurtseven 1.8
Gabe Vincent 1.8
27th pick (chosen on Portland's behalf, traded after draft) 1.7
2023 pick rights
2024 pick swap option with Miami for Portland

Lakers gets (45.2):
Kyle Lowry 28.3
Duncan Robinson 16.9

Lakers gives (47):
Russell Westbrook 47

Portland gets (58):
Russell Westbrook 47
Tyler Herro 5.7
Omer Yurtseven 1.8
Gabe Vincent 1.8
27th pick (chosen on Portland's behalf, traded after draft) 1.7
2023 pick rights
2024 pick swap option with Miami for Portland

Portland gives (61.8)
Damian Lillard 42.4
Eric Bledsoe 19.4

That's a lot of movement for more old people. No.

Just sign and trade for Spida. It's the most logical move. Butler, Bam, Spida is not so ancient and is a great core.

I agree. Dame didn't look too good this season. He can go the Harden route and you don't want to be stuck with another mega contract for an aging undersized guard. For any star we gonna empty out our assets I'd like them to be under 30.

Lillard is 31 and his contract ends at age 34/35. I thought it was reasonable - plus that he regressed from having to carry so much. He is a year younger than Jimmy

Unless he gets the extension from Portland before he is traded. Also there is no way i see the Lakers trading for Lowry and Duncan, they are dysfunctional but not that dysfunctional

Yeah I thought the premise had legs when I started, but as I looked at it I sort of felt the same.

The contracts are just too long, Lowry and Duncan are > than Westbrook probably for Lakers fit wise and can hide some of Duncan's inefficiencies and use his strengths because they have two bonafide guys needing doubles, but the salary position is not that palatable and the risk of Lowry being unavailable too great, given they have an expiring as their main contribution.

There is a better offer out there for them I assume.

Add a stretch 5 to this, and we're light years better than we are today. Lowry/Duncan can go in the meantime.....the way we develop dudes, depth should be a non-issue. Gabe has shown that he's capable of taking over the starting PG role, though I'd also like a vet PG backing him up just in case he regresses a tad. We still have Strus/Herro at value, and Yurt can develop into something great for this team if given the chance.

Kevin Durant is on a rampage on Twitter lol. I bet he roots hard for the Celtics.

Return to Miami Heat
