If no Dame, just blow it up already. Had a superstar begging to come here and Pat still doesn’t get it done? There’s no coming back from this.

Who is really that interested in paying a 35 year old Dame that much in 2 years? That eliminates most of the league. I've seen people mention teams like the Spurs and Jazz but why? How does Dame fit into their window? People mention the Sixers and Clippers but they have less draft picks than us. It seems like the biggest competition is mostly Brooklyn. Are they seriously interested or just casually interested? They would not be contenders with him. We'll see but I don't know where all these teams are. Portland should play hardball as a franchise but I don't buy that there are 20+ teams with a legitimate interest in 33 year old Dame. We'll see.

Darkhorse for me is Philadelphia, time is ticking on their side, and has to win now. If they can re-route Harden to a 3rd team which is gonna be easy since he is expiring unlike Herro then they may go all-in with Dame. Dame is a pro and won't have any choice but to play.

San Antonio and Brooklyn don't make sense, they are not gonna mortgage their future for a 2-3 window with Dame.

Heat or Philly is my bet.

EDIT: Philly has 2024,2026,2028,2029 1st picks if they want to go all-in.

Ethan Skolnick says Tyler Herro has told his friends that he’s getting traded.

They cannot trade 24, 26, & 28 due to the “can’t trade picks in consecutive years” rule. They only have one first round pick they can trade, which is either of 29 or 30.

EDIT: Also, there’s no way they get multiple first rounders in a trade for Harden. Whole league knows Harden wants LAC and he’s on a 1-year deal. The most Philly can get out of LAC is matching salary (Morris + Powell) and MAYBE a 2nd round pick?

But yeah, Philly is not anywhere near being able to compete with an offer that Miami could make.

Thanks for that. So it will be centered around if a third team can provide picks for Harden then add the 29 or 30 from Phily. Still can beat our package. Hot damn.

Debatable, our picks have been seen by the league as worthless picks due to our competitive nature. We'll see if Portland values that.

That's what the GB and Twitter don't seem to understand. Sure, there are many teams who could offer more. But are they actually seriously interested in a 33 year old Dame on a max contract? Just because a great player is available doesn't mean teams are lining up to trade for him. Teams typically call just to see what's up and then move on. I don't buy there are 28 teams licking their chops and looking to swoop in.

I know it stings right now for Tyler but BK is going to be a great opportunity for him. Great place to market himself near the big city and a solid young team to grow with. They are going to be a fun watch. Herro also protected defensively up and down that lineup. Great match. Happy for him

The duo with Mikail Bridges would be lit. The Nets also have defensive personnel that can cover Tyler's defensive weakness.

Its the best fit for him.

You can bet that Herro will mark the calendar when he is gonna play the Heat lol. He will drop 40 pts on us.

Spoiler:
But Dame will have 49 with six 3-pointers. Final score 123 Heat - 90 Nets

He’s exactly what they need to help tandem with Bridges. BK should be thrilled to get him. Hoping the hold up is not BK getting squeezed by Portland for a 5th pick. Two from BK and two from Heat should be enough.

Ira doing the lords work and putting out exactly what Pat wants the basketball world to know. Pressure falls solely on Portland and Dame now. Are they willing to accommodate Dame and is he ready to triple down telling them once again I wanna go to Miami, make it happen pendejos.

Return to Miami Heat
