Agree with this. I'm not sending Tyler out without getting a high level piece back. Sure we might have to throw in Jovic and something else, but Lauri would be a huge get. Doubt he's being shopped though, he has been sensational for Utah since being traded there.

It’s just the framework to get Murray to Miami and generate draft capital and cap relief from Tyler to use in the deal. I didn’t lay out all the picks Atlanta would get, but we would use some of the picks from Utah to send to Atlanta.

No I understood all that, I just dont understand the purpose in Dejounte Murray if we just acquired Terry Rozier. Some of these trade concepts I can't tell if people are actually trying to make this team better or just making trades for the sake of making trades.
Would this team not be better if Terry was our sixth man and Murray was the starter? Wouldn’t we be in a better position financially now saving $4 or 5 million? Wouldn’t that be enough to allow us to get buyout candidates? Wouldn’t KO’s expiring help us next year? I’m not sure how much but I’m sure we’d be able to make something happen.

This is fantasy stuff tbh. They didn't acquire Rozier to bring him off the bench, the starting backcourt we have right now is the same it's going to be for the rest of this season.

If we make a financial move it’s going to come down to either Tyler or Duncan. Most people here feel Duncan is easier to assimilate into our offense next to Jimmy and Bam. From what we’ve been hearing, Atlanta didn’t want any long term contracts back. The expiring contracts and picks can be generated if Utah is trying to flip their expiring into a quality player. Murray is still there for the taking. Hey… But I definitely hear you though.

Yeah Lauri ain’t going anywhere unless it’s for a massive pick haul. That’s just dreaming. Especially trying to extract guys like him from Ainge. I’d expect him to even play hardball with KO. I think them wanting Herro and his salary is not even part of the equation anymore. They are getting great guard play at good value these days.

I love Pat. I don't know how you can watch these clips and think he's lost it or is "senile" or whatever. He has that edge to him still. He's still a bad mofo and has that aura about him.

Guy is an absolute savant, definitely on my mount rushmore of sports figures that could get anybody to run through a brick wall. The whole interview is great, good work from D Wade

Miami sends Tyler to Utah for Olynek and 1 or two firsts
Miami sends Martin to Atlanta who should opt out as expiring.

Utah sends THT to Atlanta as the rest of the expiring to make the money work

Atlanta of course sends us Murray

Is that a good foundation to work from or should we look for something different?

Not bad. What we know is Ainge loves Herro, Dunn is likely just a placeholder, sexton is available for trade so they’re not even 100% all in on that backcourt, and they have a stupid amount of 1sts (15).

I personally view Herro as worth 2 1sts and I’m his biggest critic on here, some may view him asset wise as less but situations like that you can take advantage of potentially to squeeze out extra assets you wouldn’t normally get.

I would love to add Murray and his versatility/defense next to Rozier in the back court. Rozier can play both on and off the ball so there’s no issue there, Spo would figure out how to maximize both

Terry says he thinks the pick and roll with Bam will be special! Can't wait to see them start developing that connection!

Bam MIGHT finally have a legit partner on offense to make his life easier?!?! Now maybe we make his life easier on the other end somehow too

Watched the videos, liked what Spo said about Terry defensively, offensively not so much. I’ll see it on the court before I make judgement, I did like that he was aware of Terrys play without Lamelo this year but we’ll see

If Niko can continue to develop and come into camp ready to contribute next season, our young core of Bam, Tyler, Jaime and Niko could be really special. Add in the vets like Terry and Jimmy, and that's the makings of a nice squad.

I think we sometimes forget how young Bam and Tyler are in NBA terms, as they've been around for a while. Bam is 26, Tyler just turned 24. They have such a long time to go in their careers.

Eventually when Jimmy retires ( :( ) and Terry moves on, we should still have Bam and Tyler in their primes, and Jaime and Niko entering theirs.

If we can add more cheap labour by hitting on another draft pick in the 2024 Draft, that would be huge.
