I have seen a few posts about heat-jazz trade ideas; I don’t know if you all are aware that Danny Ainge and Pat Riley hate each other.

Not sure you guys are aware but Danny Ainge and Pat Riley absolutely despise each other.

As recently as 2013, Ainge said “…I don’t care about Pat Riley. He can say whatever he wants. I don’t want to mess up his Armani suits and that hair goop…” this was in response to a PR issued statement from Pat Riley that said “Danny Ainge needs to shut the **** up and manage his own team.” Riley was responding to Ainge’s criticism of Lebron for complaining to the refs a lot.

This wasnt a new beef. Riley snatching Ray Allen from the Celtics left a sour taste in Danny’s mouth (as a Celtics fan, I was devastated, now imagine the GM). They also have a history of beef from the 80s.

All this leads me to say that I would be absolutely shocked if Ainge made a deal with Riley. The offer would have to be so big that Danny would be forced by the owners to do it.

We literally traded with Danny a year after this by the way

I just looked back at the trade, 3 team deal with the Celtics warriors and Heat, marshon brooks and Jordan Crawford to the Celtics, Toney Douglas to the Heat, Joel Anthony a 2nd and a 1st out from Miami. Why the FUXK did we trade a 1st for Toney Douglas?

This Ainge stuff is overblown

Pat didn’t care to sling assets for the big 3 but now he won’t regardless of what we do lol

Your first trade is solid.

The trades that follow shaft Utah. Sexton, KO, and a first probably fetches them a good bit more than Herro. Sexton alone probably has more value than Herro right now.

You may be right, I just know Sexton KO and Clarkson are available and Ainge loves Herro. I think there is something there possibly. I like those 2 teams a lot as trade partners

You know who loves Herro too? Patrick James Riley lol. He’s not going to trade Herro to Ainge unless it’s for Lauri Mark.

My guess is we had to overpay one it was Danny Ainge and second we were trying to unload Joel "Stone hands" Anthony.

The only way I see Riley and Ainge sitting down together to negotiate is if there's another team involved.

Riley wouldn't want to accept a lousy deal from Ainge without support. Patrick is too traditional in his approach

Riley has to sort out his ties with Klutch Sports. We've got too many Klutch clients who could work well with us, but it's hurting our chances to build a solid roster.

It’s comes down to trust issues with Klutch. Unless Paul sits down with Riley and offers a Mea Culpa I don’t think Riley wants involve himself with any player that chooses Paul to handle their business dealings.

Yeah i’m with you on this atleast a lot more than I do with Klutch. In a case for let’s say KO who is represented by Jeff Schwartz we have a notorious heat friendly agent to broker a deal.

We have B level talent overall, and we're playing at a C- level.

Balance the roster and get back to Heat basketball - size, toughness, athleticism.

It's not about getting "better" players in a vacuum, it's about getting players that fit what we need, cover for our weaknesses and allow Bam and Jimmy to play at their best level.

Only locks for me to end games are Terry, Jimmy and Bam.

So what do they need next to them?

1) A SG that can really play off the ball, shot 3's and defend. So not Herro at all. Duncan is closer, so he might work if we can't find a more fitting 3&D SG. But guys like Alec Burks, Alex Caruso (getting WAY overrated), Jalen Suggs.

2) They also need a verstile big PF, that can shoot 3's, defend and create some. So Highsmith doesn't fit because he's small and can score enough, Martin is even smaller, Love can't defend, Jovic is in Spo's doghouse for some reason.

From an overall production point of view and fit, Jeremy Grant or Myles Bridges gets you great production on both sides of the ball. I am not a fan of Cam Johnson and as you said Bojan is suspect on Defense, might as well play Duncan at the PF.

Nets, Utah, Chicago, maybe Portland, Toronto, circle back to Charlotte (unlikely imo), pistons, pelicans, Mavs. I feel like there are a lot of potential trade partners out there

This idiot shaved it, he might be cooked. He just shortened his longevity imo.

So he’s out at minimum a month, that gives him maybe a month to close the season to find his rhythm again best case scenario. Embiids ceiling is a 2nd round exit so I’m going to say 1st round exit this year
