What a difference a day makes! We are now only half a game out of top spot! Minnesota has Foye back in the lineup and we go without Shaq/Wade/Haslem for a stretch. We look unbeatable lately despite that hiccup against Indiana. The Clippers also lost today but Memphis is really looking good lately.
We've blown away the pack in the east, and are mere games away from where it gets fun...... mathematical eliminations. We are only any combination of Boston losses or Heat wins equaling 12 away from denying Boston a chance at the best record in the lottery playoffs. And things are heating up. It will be fun around the All-Star Break to see the teams dropping off from lotto contention as we soar majestically like a candy wrapper caught in an updraft.
And don't forget that despite being a half game behind Minnesota, we have an ace up our sleeve, an already in the making win over Atlanta. With our clutch 4th quarter play, and a 3 point lead with 51.9 seconds to replay, with a lineup that will be in full swing in the March run to lotto heaven, how can we possibly lose that game? I think we can safely say, we are at this time, the best team waiting for our balls to finally drop.

Minny won yesterday so they have the same amount of victories we have!!!
Lottery, we coming!!!! jeje
Damn this is sad, we never thought this would be possible especially with a Wade there but is not hs fault entirely....so to look to the future
Sorry if this goes in another thread, I just had to vent a little there

Ah, how long has it been between streaking updates? Much has changed in the NBA, some for the better, some for the worse. Here are some updates:
*Shawn Marion for Shaq. We have looked on the cusp of faux victories since Shawn's arrival which has us all on edge. With some lucky bounces going our way, we've been able to maintain, but we are coming out one bounce away every game from breaking this magical streak (now at 9 games) As a result, I have, at the bottom of this post, created a what if, should we *gasp* go .500% the rest of the way.
* New Jersey and Dallas agreed to trade, then had to rescind it after Devean George rejected it, and Stackhouse made some boo-boos. The impact of that trade going through (which it may still in some fashion) would leave the Mavericks decimated with an All-Star lineup, with NJ making a late push for lottery glory. This would be another lucky break for us, because we have already played all of our games versus NJ and captured valuable L column digits, and still have a game vs this (likely) Dallas team. All this will bring us closer to our goal.
* Atlanta has agreed to trade for Mike Bibby for trash. While we have 2 games against each team, we play our 2 games vs a Sacramento team that still has in reach the sight of that 'other' goal (the playoffs) rather early so they are more likely to put in that 'effort' thing that we used to play with years ago. We also get 2 games against Atlanta later in the year, and in the East, every team (except us) can make the playoffs and will be jockeying for position there. The disappointing thing is that we have the make up game of 51 seconds left, and I don't believe traded players can play, meaning the Hawks will be severely depleted. Fortunately with have a 3 point deficit, so I think we got this one regardless.
* Our first elimination!!! Boston officially have played themselves out of contention for the #1 spot with their 41st W, and our 42nd L, we have clinched our first guarantee, and can already - before the all star break, expect no worse than the 29th pick in the draft. Oh happy days. More eliminations should happen quite quickly. You're next Detroit. Any combination of a Detroit W and a Heat L gets us one step closer. The countdown is on.
Standings:
1. Miami --
2. Minnesota 1.0
3. Seattle 4.0
4. Memphis 4.5
5. New York 5.5
6. Clippers 8.5
7. Charlotte 9.0
8. Milwaukee 9.0
9. Indiana 11.0
10. Chicago 11.5
If we go .500% (15-15) the rest of the way (I'll count the Atlanta loss that hasn't occured yet):
We would end up 24-58
The other teams would need to go:
Minnesota 14-17 (.451%. currently .196%)
Seattle 11-20 (.354%. currently .255%)
Memphis 10-20 (.333%. currently .269%)
New York 9-21 (.300%. currently .288%)
Clippers 7-25 (.219%. currently .340%)
Charlotte 5-24 (.172%. currently .358%)
Milwaukee 5-24 (.172%. currently .358%)
Indiana 3-26 (.103%. currently .396%)
Chicago 3-27 (.100%. currently .404%)
Basically, even at a pessimistic .500% mark, with the other teams maintaining their current percentage, we'd be in battle with Minnesota, Seattle and Memphis, with the Knicks and outside shot to contend.

I was hoping you guys would go on a crazy run and sneak into the playoffs so MN could have your draft pick. I guess I will just wait for it next year.
