Because Shaq was a huge problem behind-the-scenes and it tore this team apart; does Riley want to put up with another season like that by taking a risk on a guy who according to Chad still has questions about his character?
This team needs high-character guys after this past season...more than ever.
I can't see Riley taking a risk on Beasley after what happened this year.

"character concerns?"...ok what exactly has beasley done in the past?
if it takes you a while to think about it its because there is NOTHING there
beasley is just as good a kid as rose is and a potential 25 ppg scorer is just as much if not more of a need as a playmaker, especially when we dont need 2 ball dominant players in the backcourt...haslem can always be a backup or tradeable..beasley or rose would be fine picks but your comments are flat out ridiculous

I'm just saying what Chad Ford is reporting in regards to Beasley's character; he has brought this up time and time again throughout this season and repeated it again today in his column.
I'm just saying what Chad is reporting in regards to his character, that's all.
And I still think Rose is a better fit for this team.
Ignoring the character questions, I would still take Rose over Beasley.

exactly, maybe he's playing his cards and he's started early.Lane1974 wrote:anyone who claims to know what Riley is thinking -- doesn't.
should he get the #1 pick and wants Beasley, maybe the #2 team wants Rose more-so than Miami, he can still get Beasley and a player/cap space, while coming out a winner.
riley doesn't show his hand, he never has.

FWIW
does anyone have a link to these "character" issues with beasley so i can read up on it?
Ben, Miami Beach, FL: John, you are running the Miami Heat and have a (25%) luck day: Rose or Beasley to go with Wade?
SportsNation John Hollinger: (5:03 PM ET ) i talked to a personnel guy who I really respect and has an outstanding track record about this question, and he just started gushing about Rose, saying there was no way teams could stop him with the hand-checking rules. So I'm thinking Rose. But ask me again in a couple weeks when I've broken down all the numbers.

Dwight Howard on his FT struggles:
"I just think everybody needs to stop talking about it," Howard said. "There's more to life than free throws."

I agree. Let's talk about who the Knicks should select with #1 or #2

Here is a good column on Beasley.
I'm squarely in the Rose camp right now, but I'm jaded. I saw Beasley with K-State at the Old Spice Classic in December, and he had one of his worst games of the year. Long drive for nothing.

rose is really "mature" though so i dont know, esp w/ his fine selection of food: gummy bears
OMG Rose eats gummy bears! Oh no! He must have the mental-capacity of a toddler!
Watch the games. Beasley drifts mentally, Rose always seems focused.
