I hope so. TMac should go to NJ to play with VC and have good ol' southern love between cousins.

i am praying that we don't trade the 2nd pick for brand i mean c'mon he is 30 years old,
just came back from a major surgery and we could problably get him next year anyway
if he was kevin garnett then maybe but he clearly is not.

i would only trade him for marion and fillers.
think about it why would the clippers want mayo or the pick for brand...,
because of those same reasons i stated before.

you don't give up a player with the potential like beasley or mayo for a player that is very good,
but with question marks and is 30 years old

man we need some young blood in here i'm tired of riley getting veterans.
let our new coach grow with our young talent.

Eh, it's not a bad trade but it's not really that enticing. The thing with any Brand trade is we still get the 7th pick. There we could likely pick up Bayless or Westbrook.

Heat Concidering a deal from the clippers

Post#65 » by rockman0825 » Thu Jun 26, 2008 4:33 pm

They are concidering dealing marion and the 2 for brand and the seven... this is not great for the heat... the only way that this deal works is if we also get a player in return that could do something for us such as Al Thornton and we lose blount,... lets say we get brand and the seven and we draft like Agustin... ID rather have marion and beasley than Brand and Agustin....

True but does it make sense if you are losing Beasley AND Marion? That is your #2 and #3 options for a #2 option and a good draft prospect only. I am not sure that is a smart move.

As an unbiased observer, and just a fan of trades/drafting I would say this is the only deal that is close enough in approximate value rather than just drafting beasley.

Good lord, no.
We'd have no frontcourt. And T-Mac is overrated.

How do we know we're even offering Marion? I think if we were offering Marion and 2 for Brand and 7 straight up the deal would already be done (short of waiting to see if Chicago passing on Rose).

true, Riles leverage is that the Clips stand to lose Brand for nothing.. so they can have Beasley and Blount/Banks/DQ or some package, maybe UD, or we'll take Beasley and wait till next year for EB

beasley or mayo...no to bayless.
if we come out of this draft with either one than a job well done.
if not there will be alot of miami fans who will be let down.

What if we can keep our cap space add Brand and the #7 pick? (IE Blount+Banks+#2 for Brand+7)?

I have a question, is there anyone here who doesn't feel as certain as they possibly can be, given we haven't seen Beasley play a minute of pro ball, that Beasley will be a star?

I ask because I don't understand why so many people are infatuated with dealing the pick...

Here is the trade that should happen:

#2
Udonis Haslem
Mark Blount
Daequan Cook

for

Elton Brand
#7

IF it ends up being #2 and Marion for Brand and #7, I wouldnt be mad after thinking about it.

First off, the Clippers have been reportively interested in OJ Mayo.
Brand>>Marion ( Completely Healthy Brand>>>Marion)
OJ Mayo>Bayless or Lopez or Love

IF they take Beasley
Beasley>>>Bayless or Lopez or Love

I don't know that he will be or won't be a star.... I mean the pundits on TV and the net all say he will be, but you have to look back at history and see that people felt that way about Bogut and Marvin Williams and Okafor and Darko... maybe he turns into a stud, maybe he is a nice player, but I have no problems trading potential for a sure fire A list NBA player

I'd vomit if he goes for a package of wilcox and mayo or miller and bayless, but not for Brand or Boozer or that caliber

I wouldn't object doing this trade:

#2 + filler for #3 (Mayo), 1st rounder 09' back from Minny, and Corey Brewer
