I remember being a little kid and my mom buying us a NES. We had Mario/Duck Hunt and Castevania. Our first two games. I've still never beaten it. Dracula's monster form was just too much for me as a kid.

Cool DoM. I liked the first szn but it ended in like 4 episodes. I figured that the creators ran out of ideas and just dropped the production. I see that they came out with a lot more episodes in szn 2 and now szn 3. It's hard to keep track of what's going on in the Netflex I need new anime notifications.

I think Castevania became legendary because of its revolutionary sound system. Konami(?) installed a separate sound chip so that we could hear more notes. I hardly remember the game but I still remember the wicked soundtrack.

A couple more days here and I'll be out of the military. Scared, but excited to finally rejoin the civilian life. Already gonna miss all the friends I've made here and I don't think I'll make any of the same ones again. Back on the 9-to-5 and school life! Should also be around here more often now. lol

Wow, that was some nostalgia at the 15 second mark of that video. I never really thought of NES soundtracks as that big of a deal, but when you think of the popular songs from your childhood, many popular video games stand out.

I was always a fan of the traditional horror characters when I was young. They used to have these orange books in the school library that focused on King Kong, The Creature from the Black Lagoon, Dracula, Wolfman, Frankenstein, etc. I was so in to them at the time, and spent countless hours drawing them. It was my thing. Naturally, the Castlevania game hit home pretty well.

I never really knew what that game was about, just knew that I was scared of it. Generation below yours, I played the N64 joint

Didn't they have a couple for the N64? Were they any good?

The one that got me back into it was the PS3 one, Lords of Shadow. I played the heck out of that game. The sequel was just awful though. IIRC they didn't have Hideo Kojima as producer and they had an entirely different team work on it. It's like they were trying to scuttle the project from the get go.

I dunno much about the later Castlevania’s, but I can confirm that I have also never beaten the NES one. Yet it still remains one of the most fun games I have ever played. When you upgrade that whip and kill monsters in 1 shot instead of 2 or 4, you feel unstoppable. Then you fall in a pit cuz you got cocky.

Many of those original games are pretty tough. Mega Man for example. All games are about recognizing patterns, but if you can show some patience (had zero as a child) then they're pretty beatable.

Falling to your death is pretty easy to do. I remember a stage where you have to platform on to these small little squares while flying medusa heads try to knock you off. Probably 50% success rate for me. **** was a coin flip sometimes.

Yeah it was like mega man, but then also had puzzles where you had no idea what to do next to progress the game.

Wendy's breakfast sandwiches are really good. Very surprised. Tastes WAY better than McDonald's for breakfast. Thick ass bacon. Makes me cry that I don't eat pork anymore.

A lot of black pepper on the eggs. Love it

Maple chicken biscuit is on point.

It's getting kinda brazy, they're having to decide who should and shouldn't receive care in Italy based on their chance to survive because they've been so overwhelmed.

Have a lot of immunosuppressed friends, not to mention older relatives...I’m worried. have to hope people take precaution so we don’t completely stress the healthcare system
