You know using sarcasm to do exactly what I just said you're doing isn't clever right? You're proving my point. (I'm talking about on this board, not your strawman conservative boogeyman that has somehow followed you here)

Idk if I'm clever, probably too dumm to stop engaging in hot topics. Lol. But, seeing something horribly wrong in the society or your neighborhood and doing nothing is cowardly. The least we could do is speak up.

And I don't read this board often enough to know who's saying what. I just saw a comment n replied.

You are being clever while remaining out of the debate because it's only gonna raise the temperature? Well, if something is wrong, it better get hot n blow over. Speak up. Engage in conversations w a hope maybe things can get better. Maybe I'll convince the other guy, or maybe I'll understand him better. Staying silent doesn't solve anything. Like a saying goes, if you are not a part of the solution, you are a part of the problem.

It's not about conservative or liberal POVs. We had them for our entire lives. But, when was the last time the POTUS pick out members of the opposite party, "the enemy of the State" and threatened to lock them up? When was the last time the POTUS was milking the position for billions of dollars and no one was calling him out. Even the Dems aren't making enough noises about it!

I'm going to address this line and leave it at that because I've done the back and forths already with others, and they aren't productive.

But this is the entire issue. What I see as horribly wrong, you might think is a great thing. And vice versa. In fact I know it's the case because that's what sparks every political argument ever. Its not good vs evil, as much as everyone would like it to be. You want the discussion to be whatever is the most heated liberal clickbait of the day, but you probably don't even know the other sides issues or are actively ignoring them. I don't bring them up because what is the point, I know this board probably leans left and I'll just create enemies of fellow Heat fans. I have been banned from the CA board for speaking my mind, realgm is moderated in one direction very fiercely. I'm not trying to make enemies on the Heat board, I'm good with bonding over our favorite team and leaving it at that.

But I don't think the Random Thoughts thread needs to be political. And it keeps veering in that direction, but its a very one sided direction, because I know if the other side were allowed it'd be all out war and no fun for the mods either (as is the conservatives appear to be keeping quiet, and even HFL has to claim he's in the middle with the posts he makes and is still attacked). Whatever, if the Heat board mods are OK with it I'm just going to keep my mouth shut, my opinion is probably not the popular one here anyways. My apologies.

Nah on the real, I aint middle of the road. I just understand nuance and also know that there’s a whole different set of facts from the facts I have on issues. Maybe the facts I have are right, maybe they’re wrong. As long as someone aint insulting me though, I am happy to talk about values based around facts I may not even believe are true.

This is the problem of the most (decent) people. Too afraid to speak up because they are afraid to stir the pot, muddy the water, ruffle the feathers.

I love political talks/debates because of that reason. I'm not righteous or I don't believe I'm always right. But without uncomfortable conversations, there's no progress, imo. I have learned more and changed some of my views from these talks. All the conservatives, speak up as well. (Now, if the mods don't like it, I can't control that ofc)

I'm (well, became over the years) more socially progressive, but I'm very fiscally conservative. And Musk was naive that he could actually cut federal spendings and he's now furious that Trump n Republicans are trying to pass a bill that will add more debts. Seriously get engaged n speak up. If not here, in everyday life. We are blessed we have the freedom to speak up. Use it

Btw, who thinks the POTUS printing his own memecoin to pocket $billions is a great thing? Please convince me if you think it's great.

Been following tennis since I was a teen.. yesterdays women’s match and todays men’s final, was just epic at Roland Garros. It’s up there as probably the best finals weekend i have watched in a grand slam. Alcaraz is a beast and Coco keeps on developing into an american star.

Actual random thought, anyone try Rising Cane's? Had it recently (they just opened one in Tamarac off Commercial and University) and honestly it might be better than Chick Fil A. It's at least a competitor. I was impressed.

Raising Cane's. Best chicken tenders out there. They fry as you order. Hot, fresh and juicy w stream rising out of the box. The sauce is pretty good too. Although I usually eat w several different my favorite sauces at home.

You won't get a response lol.

That's my thing. There are people on both sides that have completely lost it because they are so dug into supporting "their side". Supporting absolute lunacy and things that are literally anti-American because they feel they need to (I guess) to justify their vote. Like how are we at a point where American citizens are arguing to throw away due process? Or like you mentioned, shrugging at clear corruption by the sitting president profiting off of a meme coin he made up while in office? Its just odd.

It happens on the other side too, of course. Illegal immigration needs to be checked, for sure, and "leftists" arguing against it are stupid (Obama deported a ton and did it fine without throwing away the Constitution). Also Democrats suddenly pretending there is no difference between the sexes is idiocy.

But the one saving grace for the left is that they aren't openly racist & sexist. They aren't clearly only looking out for the economic interests of the very top of the 1% and being blatantly cruel to everyone else like the right is intent on doing. Like, how can you justify being a middle class worker maybe not even earning 100k a year and garnishing the wages of your fellow citizens who were/are students to pay their education debt, but you were okay with millionaires and billionaires getting their debts entirely forgiven? Just to "own the libs"? If ppl weren't so dug into their side, they'd be after the whole system, instead of just cheering on whatever their side does, even if it makes no sense and is what their politicians are banking on while they rob them.

Im as independent as independent can get.. i see the dumb **** and the the good from both democrats and republicans and call it like it is.

That right there, is Trump flexing for his base. There is 3.9 million people in Los Angelas if we are to believe the census is accurate. 700 marines and 2000 national guard is unnecessary to control a few hundred rioters and what is going on in california. We are looking like North Korea out there.

Meanwhile in the middle of a so called crisis, where he is treating it like a civil war, Trump was front row at UFC 317 even during the prelims in New Jersey enjoying the fights.

Photos were taken of him wearing the belt and all. He knows its not like that in LA, a few photos and videos isnt going to change that. And a lot of people are re sharing videos of places that arent even LA, of the george floyd protests, to make it seem like it is the same riot.

Keep your eyes open everybody. The government, neither left or right, are here to help anybody. Theyre **** with us.

Fla Panthers up 2-1 with EDM Goalie Skinner pulled for Pickard which may give em a spark. Game 4 Panthers need to bring it cuz the Oilers are desperate.

Haha, I didn't expect any responses on that kinda rhetorical question. Because it's an obvious corruption. Nothing great about it.

I'm a liberal on social issues, but I don't defend all Dems. Many of them can be quite complacent too. All elected officials. That's why we gotta keep speaking up, put pressure on them we are watching them do the right thing for the country and don't be blindly loyal to save their own paychecks.

Even the Trump coin, there are still so many people who have no idea about that. I just talked to a good Christian lady who obviously votes red. She tells me Trump gave up a lot of biz opportunities to become the President because he loves this country!! She has no idea he made more money since becoming the President. Not only that, he avoided trials n possible jail time as well. She didn't believe what I was telling her initially, but she got confused and wanted to see the actual news on them. Just stop talking because we don't want confrontations is a copout. I could be wrong on issues too. I could learn a thing or two by talking to people who's got different ideas. I mean we talk passionately about sports. Do w politics too. If not here, do it w your family n neighbors. Don't be afraid. We not going anywhere if we are too afraid to talk it out tough issues affecting us all.
