Just my opinion...Let's call the New York Knicks or Houston. We'll probably have to include Deng and someone else. We have some veterans that want to win now. Whiteside has the body to be a superstar. Not sure if has the brains to be a star.

If Hassan wants to be a punk and focus on being a star and want the lime light and all that crappy jazz that goes with it over wanting to play with a professional, disciplined Organization that he has obviously thrived in and that has a great chance of being legit contenders next season then good riddance to the kid.
But this kind of reporting is presumptuous. Besides....Hassan is not ready to be a star in a featured situation. I'm sure any chump team will give into his ego, requests and feed into his sense of entitlement but that would only worsen him as a player and feed into any bad attitude that an organization such as Miami has been taming.
I think we are doing a great job guiding and developing the kid & i hope he acknowledges and realizes that.
If u don't want 2b here, the way things work, u don't like it, then don't b here. U have 2 stand on something. If Miami ain't standing on something, they become alot of these organizations trying 2 find their identity. This is the culture, bro -Wade

Punk? At the end of the day he is going to do what's best for him and his family, wouldn't you? Everyone wants success and to reach their potential, no matter what occupation it is. You cannot be mad at him for wanting to be featured and wanting to be a star. Wade wanted to be a star, guess what? Was you calling LeBron a "punk" for leaving Cleveland and coming to Miami to win titles? Bet you didn't. Some act all godly, as if you were in his position you wouldn't want to cash in and put yourself in a position to succeed.

you really comparing Wade and Hassan?
Wade came into the league highly selfless and played team orientated basketball. Wade prioritized winning before anything else and that's what makes a great player. He knew if he could play his best but at the same time make his team better then everything such as individual accolades would also come as a result. but winning was always a priority. If, and i do mean if because as i stated that report is presumptuous , Hassan wants to focus on being a star then yeah that's some punk sh*t & good riddance if that's his direction - there's no room for that here. That's no better than Beasley coming into the league and focused on wanting to be an MVP over anything else. Both mentalities lacks basic principals.
And don't give me this best for his family stuff because it wasn't too long the kid was wasting away at his local YMCA, he wasn't exactly struggling. You want to see struggling go look under some bridge or impoverished location and you'll see real struggle. Sick of hearing this take care of family stuff when us everyday people won't ever reach the sorta earning s in even 20 life times NBA players are paid. Besides, Riles will take care of Whiteside financially and he will get paid - just because he may not get the max it won't put him out on the streets. And if indeed he is the star that he may think he is then he has a long and lucrative career ahead of him.
And i have always been highly criticial of Lebron bolting like a coward to play in Miami. It indicated the sort of coward he is. You really think he would have gone back to the Cavs if Irving and a gazillion other number one draft picks and top 5 picks weren't already there? Lebron's the biggest punk in the NBA

I dont understand the hate? If Whiteside or Lebron had a better offer they would be idiots not to take it. If we dont want to max Whiteside and dont want him to be the focal point but another team will, who wouldnt leave in that case? Lebron left for a team he thought was better and yes he didnt win a ring but made it to the finals while we became a lottery team. People have to do whats best for them.
At the end of the day Whiteside will do what is best for him and Pat will do what he thinks is best for the team. If we know we will lose Whiteside the wise thing to do is to trade him in a package that will net us a good player.

LeBron is a very different case, because he was always going to leave & go back to Cle. He poisoned the well for us before he left & made it so that we couldn't be as active in FA - remember we had Pau considering coming here for the MLE before he said "I'm out". We could have still made the same trade for Dragic if LeBron hadn't left, and then we'd be rolling with Dragic/Wade/Bron/Bosh/Pau! He didn't actually leave for the better team, he left because it was the best time in the Cavs cap situation for him to go back & they had lucked into Wiggins so they could trade for a 3rd star (Love).
Whiteside would be leaving for the best situation for him to make the most money, on & off court. Being a 3rd or 4th banana gets him no big sneaker deal & limited other endorsements. Being a 1st or second option on a PO bubble team will give him more involvement and a stronger focus in the offence, making his stats better, which in turn will get him more endorsements. Add that to a higher playing salary & it's a win-win-win for him. Honestly, if I was in the same situation I would probably be thinking the same: one max contract can really set you & your family up for life. Add the endorsements that come with being a face of the franchise, and there's a lot of $ to be made in a really short time. He can chase a ring after that deal, if he wants.
Him being on snapchat, Instagram and Twitter is largely about driving up his marketability & making him a more appealing candidate for endorsements.

He's been awful defensively since his knee got hurt. He wasn't perfect before but he was mobile and explosive. A lot of that hasn't been there as of late.

Teams are now paying attention to Whiteside game. He's probably part of their game plan now.. whiteside needs to be consistent, get his mind in the game and stop thinking of his contract.

i doubt that.
i think their is a good possibility we trade whiteside at the deadline.
our team is better with him off the floor, stats say. thats hard to ignore. he gets a few blocks a game, but his bbiq is still so raw, he bites on fakes all the time.

Yes his contract alone has no value, that i agree but in a package with deng/bird ( expiring ) we could get something. Remember Pat like to go all out on trades so i would not be surprised to see Winslow added if we can get some elite type player.

Very true. I suggested Charlotte as a possible trade destination. Figured they might be interested in gambling since it's his hometown and Jefferson is hurt and also free agent. We would get Batum and Kaminsky back. Batum comes with bird rights and we offer him a great situation here. I know Riley was a big fan of Kaminsky in the pre draft process. He brings us another stretch big. I know many will bash the trade but a lineup of
C Frank Kaminsky
PF Chris Bosh
SF Nic Batum
SG D Wade
PG Goran Dragic
That starting five excites me
