Would be an upgrade for the Lakers. As for the Kings, as always, who the hell knows what they're ever doing.

They don't wanna pay him. My guess is they are overrating the amount of money he will get next summer

The draft isn't an easy thing to judge after the fact, it really is a crap shoot. You have to draft on the basis of team needs and hope you don't go for broke.
In that sense, Barrett was a great pick. Like, I was incensed at both the Herro and Bam picks because those guys were undoubtedly 'fit-picks.' Like, our most talented guys at the time were Rich, Winslow, Dragic and Dion and we were making fit-picks like we were phucking contenders. Holy chit, I thought Riles might have flew one over the cuckoo's nest. Preparation, but some luck, got us Jimmy, and Bam/Herro/Nunn/Robinson all coalescing at once(not contenders, but close enough to call some of those calls just *in hindsight)
Bam wasn't a fit-pick and Herro was probably BPA.
BPA is subjective, I won't argue that. But very hard to see a scenario where either pick was a ceiling/upside pick where they were chosen. Both out up meh seasons with glaring flaws. I see Bam as a fit-pick cause we knew Hassan wasn't a part of Heat's future at that time-- not sure how else to see that pick at the time, so in that context I see them as fit picks
There were around a hand full of prospects that went after Herro that were generally rated higher, but opinions vary. Doesn't matter now
Bam and Herro put up "meh" seasons? Bam had a BPM of 9.5 which is basically lottery territory for a freshman. He was averaging 17+ PPG per 36 and had a TS% of 62.4. Herro wasn't a great finisher in college and still managed to make more than 52% of his 2-pointers. I think he even broke Kentucky's FT% record that year. Those are not "meh" seasons.
We drafted Bam in 2017 and Hassan left the team in 2019 so were the Heat looking 2 years in the future
? If Adebayo was drafted for fit, who was BPA?Re: Around the NBA streets Vol. 4: YEPPIE!

I think they thought Bam would be more of a shooter. The talk that he had a million consecutive 3s during draft workout were in propaganda for like solid 3 months

Very impressive tbh. AD and Lebron without Rondo are +10.3 when AD plays PF and +30.1 when Lebron plays PF and AD plays C
