Phillys not accepting that trade. They basically own the pick we'd be trading to them because there's no way they make the playoffs

Heat out : Joel Antoney + Rashard Lewis + Philly's own 2014 lottery protected draft pick that we own + 3 mil $.

Heat in : Spencer Hawes

We get a decent Center that can spreads the floor, he even hits some 3's. No doubt he's a big upgrade over Joel. We also get rid of Joel's contract for 2014-2015, which we need to do beacuse we'll need the cap space. Next year we could either keep Hawes usuing bird rights if he does well here or just let him go for nothing if we feel he's not needed.

Well, they would be getting back their 2 2nd rounders, but yeah, Hawes is worth more than that.

Thing is.. I kinda see us taking back Mike Miller next season if he remains healthy on a vet min.

I would've liked it if we traded Joel and our Philly pick (2 second rounders basically) + cash incentive to the teams that need to take on salary (like Philly) for someone like Okafor or even if it was just for seeing what Hamilton brings to the table.

Oh Well.. Can't have everything go our way. Our organization is also well known for being very loyal. Almost to a fault.

Mike Miller doesn't become a FA until after 2014/2015 season. The Heat are not allowed to sign him until after his amnestied contract expires.

Doesn't he become a FA next year? That's what it says on HoopsHype and Basketball-Reference.

http://www.basketball-reference.com/contracts/MEM.html

Also, I'm not clear about the procedure regarding re-signing an amnestied player. Do we have to wait till our initial contract is over i.e 2014-15? If so, then what you said will probably hold true even if he becomes a FA after this season.

This is a much better place for salary info.

And of course, the contract we amnestied needs to end before re-signing him.

Oh....I also thought that we'd have to wait a year after the amnesty Miller. I know that he has a player option for 2014-15 from Memphis which IF he does exercise it, he could return but now since you put it that way....DAMN -_-

My bad, I didn't specify that it was in reference to the Heat. Yes, he becomes a FA for the entire NBA next season except Miami. His Miami amnestied contract runs until 2015.

Mike Miller in a year+ from now? Really>? He's going to be dust by then. We'll likely have Ennis ahead of him at that point. Remember, he was a rotation afterthought last year.

Naa Man.. You misunderstand.
I was just saying that the organization might consider taking him back, provided he is healthy, just to give him a chance to retire here. Given the choice I'd love it if the replaced some of the unproductive oldies with younger players that show promise.

Nah, that ain't happening. It's not like he was drafted by Miami and spent a decade here. He had some dramatic moments and games over a short period of time, but if he was that important to the franchise he would still be here.

The same one that was announced a couple of days ago. Beasley and Mason got the spots.

Been saying for a while that, beyond all the obvious basketball reasons that will keep LeBron in Miami, wifey would play a big role in sealing the deal.

Would be absolutely shocked if she chose to live year-round in Ohio again after getting a taste of South Florida as a wealthy woman in her mid-late twenties. And she's planting roots...

LeBron's wife to open Miami juice bar

By Darren Rovell
ESPN.com
November, 8, 2013

After years of hearing her husband talk about his business projects, LeBron James' wife Savannah will start her own juice business next month.

"I would listen to him talk about his conversations with Warren Buffett or Jerry Jones," she said. "But I wanted to get into business, too."

The store, called The Juice Spot, is expected to open in the Brickell neighborhood in Miami in the first week of December.

The idea of selling juice, Savannah James said, came from making healthy potions with her trainer to get in shape for the couple's wedding in September.

James said her husband will stand behind her, but that this will very much be her own project.

"LeBron's connection to my company is that he supports me," she said. "But this going to my baby." ...

Pretty wild trade idea i saw :

Miami out : Haslem + Joel + Cole (or future pick)

Miami in : JaVale McGee

So call me crazy, but the idea is kind of intriguing to me. I don't think there's any real chance it goes down, but my is logic is this - We can't add a big man on the free market, we won't have the cap space as long as the big 3 are here. So the only way is to draft one or trade for one. Yes - McGee is a knucklehead. But he's only 25 YO. IF we could get his head right, which obviously is big IF, you get a young Center, the longest player in the NBA, elite shotblocker, decent on offense too. He looked good for stretches but can't find his way in Denver for some reason. He's overpaid for sure, but we won't have cap space anyway...so the only ramification would be the Tax Micky will have to pay. It's basically the Beasley gamble X 10.

I'm not moving Cole or Haslem. McGee is definitely not worth it. We already have Beasley and Oden we're working on. This is a team of veterans, i.e. MEN.

Moving Haslem would be a huge mistake. Moving him into a three piece suit is a great idea.

Haslem is the heart of this team. Its been said countless upon countless times. No way you trade him. Rather just hear his heartbeat from the bench.

I don't see why the Nuggets would make that trade.

And again if Mickey was willing to tack on money for extra talent it would have been smarter to hold Miller's contract to use in a trade.
