Green, who scored all 30 in the first three quarters, said he has been motivated by critical things written about him, without specifying what.

“Every day I go to the gym, read comments, go right back to the gym, read comments, go right back to the gym,” he said.

Good to see Gerald have one of those games. We really needed it to get this win.

Looks like Gerald Green was waiting for me to call him useless on this board to get going.

I remember back in 09 we went into the playoffs off of a hot streak and ended up losing in 5 to the old 4th seeded Celtics who were having a down year.

Once that playoffs start all that crap doesn't matter. No one will remember the fact that we blew this game or that game.

Either our guys will bring it or they won't.

But you must build winning and positive habits! currently we are not. We just lost a horrible game to the lowly Lakers and in a must win the game after almost gave a 24pt lead away to a Cousins-less Kings team and ended up winning by 6pts. Granted Wade was absent but we're still a far better team than them.

Are we just going to flip a switch and be extra motivated, hungry and passionate come playoffs? We are most likely just going to rely on veteran leadership and play from Wade, JJ & Deng (and smaller extent Dragic). As i see it Boston shows far more hunger and determination. They will be a dangerous team come playoffs. Not saying they can beat us but they're proving to be a tough team simply because of those qualities and the habits they've built throughout this entire season.

I still have us going to ECF but i hate the fact we aren't showing that hunger, fire and passion like other teams, coaches and players w/ all these blown leads, blown games and horrible losses and inconsistencies.

Joe 36 min, Deng 34 min. The only thing worse would be Wade getting 35 min along with them.

This team has to learn how to put easy games away early next year if we plan to run with the same squad or our vets will fall apart by ASB.

I think Green read 99% of people on this board. Thanks for the motivation guys :D

aarrgghh

it's been frustrating. we simply don't care enough. we have no fire, no real desire. We lack true motivation!

I like Gerald Green and wish him well. I'm not going to post a terrible insult demeaning his inherent worth in hopes that he's lurking on here and becomes motivated to prove me wrong. No, sir, I'm not going to do it. I'm not going to degrade a decent human being out of shameful self interest. :wavefinger:

Spoiler:
Michael Beasley >>>>> Gerald Green

and he's much smarter, too.

Hit the gym, Gerald!

Goran is no team leader. I worry every time he's in in the 4th. We missed Wade in the 4th, thankfully Joe and Deng brought some leadership.

Playoff LeBron that took scrubs to the finals (not even a big fan of LeBron anymore but he did) vs a Raptors franchise that has never won a playoff series?

Didn't waste my time watching this game. But judging from the comments, Dragic got outplayed by another quick guard? Yikes.

Steph's little brother thoroughly outplayed his ass and he looked shook when the Kings made the comeback.

Nah I think people are overreacting a lot. His biggest issue was comitting turnovers vs the Kings traps. Defensively he wasn't that bad. Actually I thought he was better than J Rich defensively. Rich got cooked by Collison, he couldn't stay in front of him. Literally every high PnR by Collison lead to either a wide open J or J Rich fouling him.

Goran actually did a better job sticking with him and late in the game he had a clutch defensive play where he got a piece of collisions stupid J which he tried again off of a high PnR.

Offensively there was a lot of turnovers and he couldn't get to the rim that well. He definitely hasn't been 100%.

Ah ok great! So he can be on and off defensively like everyone else. I think dragic will play better when Bosh is back. Totally underestimating his absence.

I overreacted after the lakers game.

IDK why people keep acting like Goran is our problem defensively. He isn't a stopper by any means but he competes hard.

Wade, JJ, and Stat are the liabilities not him. Lol

Yet all you hear is pg x is going to cook him, player y is going to do this.

Statically he's been one of the best defensive PG's in the league and since the all star break he's been better defensively than J Rich, again according to the numbers.

I think this is where narrative matters. J Rich was brought in as a defensive minded rookie whereas Goran came from the Suns where he never really defended and because of that people criticize that two of them differently.

No one mentioned how J Rich got cooked. Ect

Goran's been expending max energy on both ends while not being 100%. If he can get healthy by playoff time we'll be fine.

Remember earlier in the season where his legs were dead and Teague cooked him? Everyone was freaking out about Gorans D. Well fast forward to any of our other matchups against them and Goran has contained Teague and out played him every time.

this team as a whole last night couldn't escape the KINGS trap defense. It wasn't just Goran **** it up, but I will say Goran was decent for his standards in the 4th compared to some disappearing acts he has had

He scored the most 4th quarter points, with 8, mostly on free throws because he kept going in the paint as the King's were shortening the gap. He stayed aggressive.

Collison and Curry were shooting 3's and jay's like no one's business. I actually think if Richardson wasn't having another off night, he'd be on one of them (mostly Collison), and things would have been a bit better defensively for us, but it is what it is. Just glad we escaped yet another embarrassing performance there in the 2nd half...

Those second half let downs will be the death of us in the playoffs, if continue with bad habits.

Wade and JJ are better defenders, Wade is on another plateau.

Goran is more like a revolving door on defence.

Still I guess we knew that when we got him, the bigger worry is his lack of leadership and inability to break down a set defense.

If Wade was playing last night I don't believe that goran would have had crunch time minutes, he's better when there is less pressure. I think teams will give him the jeremy lin treatment on offense more often in the playoffs.

Collison looked world class in comparison on both O and D.

on the bright side. i think its a good thing that the team gets exposed to this type of defense now so when it happens in the playoffs(and it will.) they won't lose their composure(hopefully) and throw the ball wherever in opposing players hands just happens to be.
