Jazz got out of an almost $50M contract with a player that's almost a liability in the Playoffs and got 5 draft picks... If anything that might drive up the price for Mitchell, if he's available

I’m still unsure on Mitchell. I get he’s a good player, a 25/4/5 guy. But we’re going to have to give up A LOT and while he’s clearly an upgrade on Herro, I’m not sure he’s that much of an upgrade to warrant the pile of picks we’ll have to give up.

I dunno, unsure. With KD, Atleast I know he’s All-World. Mitchell is legit but I worry about a 6’1” SG being a number 1 option deep into the playoffs.

This was a Basement spaces (only spaces I’ve ever listened to), and Kristian Winfield said something slightly differently - this is paraphrasing for clicks.

He said Knicks aren’t as attractive to Spida as people assume, while comparatively he’d love to be headed to the Heat. The Fat Joe part was saying he is more plugged in with Jazz & confirmed as much

When a player like KD is available you have to do whatever it takes to get him. But we still short on assets as of now. Look what the Jazz got for Gobert. Maybe we use other trades to get the assets that will top the offers teams like the Suns and the Celtics can put together. It will be very hard but I'm sure Riley has his total focus on KD.

With Mitchell we’ll still have Lowry to trade (if needed) for more help.

The thing about Mitchell is he'd be a future investment. Likely would get 4-8yrs of him and Bam and they'd likely lure the next major star player here for future success.

It'll be fun trying to find out. We've needed a prolific scorer as a final piece. He's proven to be one. Players thrive in our system - we'd make Mitchell an even better player. He hasn't hit his prime yet, while KD' @33 has 2-3 prime yrs lft. I won't mind either 1 but Spida's that dude for me, personally.

I’m happy with either. Spida comes cheaper (cap wise), but is a better future piece. KD is more guaranteed as a win-now piece & will be better for recruiting vet min players, but is older & will decline, leaving with nothing but Bam at the end.

I’m down with either of them, and think the Heat win either way.

KD move is a win now acquisition to fit w/ Jimmy's window. It's risky if we're not successful, esp after trading 22yo Herro who could grow to be an elite level all-star calibre player. W/ Mitchell we could continue to build around him & not risk a collapse to a rebuild.

KD will decline, but it’s hard to imagine his game suffering too much as he gets older. He should continue to age very well.

I feel that. We get caught up in ageism way too much in sports and society-- who cares how young some of these guys are... if KD now will give us a better chance at a chip in the next 2 years than the other young players will in a 100 yrs, he should obviously be the priority

Mortality is a terrifying thing for most to think about though, and rather the illusion of security that youth can offer

Lowry, Herro, Robinson, Strus and 3 FRPs and 2 swaps

For

Durant and Curry

PG - Vincent / ???
SG - Curry / Oladipo
SF - Butler / Martin
PF - Durant / ???
C - Adebayo / Yurtseven / Dedmon

PG - Lowry / Mills
SG - Herro / Strus
SF - Harris / Robinson
PF - Simmons / O’Neale
C - Claxton

Am I crazy for thinking Brooklyn would actually be decent with Simmons and this kind of shooting around him?

Yikes, we gotta improve so badly. Boston got their sought-after PG. No more of these careless TOs

Could be a 7th or 8th place team.

We know Tyler is a baller and with less limelight in NY, he might take it to the next level. Brooklyn should really consider Tyler's ceiling.

Simmons and Herro and a buttload of picks is a good place to start your rebuild while being competitive, considering they owe picks. Simmons and Herro actually fit pretty well together.

Make it happens, Marks.
