Hard for me to see any major FA signings. Wonder how good this team can be with Waiters & JJ returning. 7th-8th seed?

Dragic/TJ
Dion/Rich
Justise/Mcgruber
JJ/Bam
White
Indy losing gorge, Bulls losing Butler, Hawks taking step back,
I'd say anything in the 3-6 seed is possible.

Yeah, Indy and Bulls may be out..Hawks always find a way to treadmill, so don't count them out. So that leaves the Cavs, Celtics, Bucks, Wizards, Hornets, Raptors, 76ers, Pistons all whom i'm expecting to be solid. I don't trust Waiters to keep up his stellar play long term, so idk. Hope Riley lands a top tier FA. And resign JJ

Re: Miami HEAT Offseason/Trades/FA Thread: Sardine Central
The Wizards were/are starting to come along and still on the rise due to Wall and Beal hitting their prime,
I'd say we are most likely the solid 4th seed in the East without a significant FA signing.

Part of me thinks that the Lebron divorce hurt Riley and he's been healed somewhat by the chemistry of the FAs we added last off season. He's said resigning them is a win. I think he's doing it for the feels this off season.

I agree. Feel like he wants to show loyalty to the players who bought into the culture. The team really does feel like a family. I think Riley is no doubt cherishing the chemistry.

i dont want another mediocre season. the heat needs a a player or two that can make everyone even better. i care about wins not feels hereMettaWorldPanda wrote:DayofMourning wrote:Part of me thinks that the Lebron divorce hurt Riley and he's been healed somewhat by the chemistry of the FAs we added last off season. That would be a horrible strategy...

Pray that Riles feels doesn't cloud cap numbers... JJ/Dion are nice players but over paying/lengthy contracts are my biggest fears. Gonna be an interesting 1st of July all the same....

Re: Miami HEAT Offseason/Trades/FA Thread: Sardine Central
I don't think Pat gets all warm and fuzzy thinking of how close this team is.
We've seen this all before. Remember in 2003-2004 team that started terribly and then went on a huge run with:
Dwyane Wade
Eddie Jones
Caron Butler
Lamar Odom
Brian Grant
That team went from lottery to the 2nd round of the playoffs, taking the highly rated Pacers to 6 games. That's more impressive than the 11-30 to 30-11 turn around from this year's team.
A month or two later Butler, Odom and Grant were all dealt for Shaq. Riley is all about big ticket items, and he'll sacrifice whoever to get them. He's ruthless, which he has to be. I don't think he has mellowed with age, he's just biding his time. That time is approaching.
