What would happen if the Bam Adebayo we all saw against Atlanta becomes the norm? Should we consider continuing to pursue Joel Embiid or Anthony Davis? What if in addition to that performance, Bam starts shooting the ball from beyond the arc? We know he is capable. Bam is 22 years old, are we overestimating or underestimating his market price?

Philly came close to beating the eventual champs with Butler's 2 way game, Embiid's incredible rim protection, and good overall defense. Miami currently has Butler and his 2 way game and has some of Embiid's rim protection and some/most of the defense. THIS TEAM WAS CLOSE TO HAVING A LEGIT SHOT and let 2021 get in the way. People are worried about Gallo's aging in that contract, well, 2021 you'll be dealing with a 32 year old Butler on the max with his best days behind him. This franchise was thrown a lifeline by Butler FORCING his way to a team with no cap space and instead of capitalizing on it, just utilized it to do "better" till 2021 and HOPE someone better then Butler signs with the team. 2021 is also why this team didn't trade for CP3... instead of looking at his play WITHOUT Harden when in Houston people just said he was washed up and yet he didn't just make the all-star team, he was one of the top players in that game. It's actually possible tha Miami could have been starting CP3(trade before the season), Butler, Robinson, Gallo(trade at deadline), and Bam but no... 2021. What a waste of a season that could have been great for Miami...

I really can't believe an aging Riley didn't give this team a legit shot at the championship this year. There's a tiny chance like there is for most above average teams, but holy #)$(#$ the roadmap to a true contender THIS YEAR, NEXT YEAR, and yes, even 2021 was there. #I$(#)U()@*(#

I agree with you 100%. We already have many sardines and we don't need one, but two more whales. Sardines are used to feed the whales.

Need an interior defender or two to allow him to exert less on defense. Allows him to open up his offense a bit. Don't really care about his 3s, but his midrange jumper will help him immeasurably. Other defenders will have to bite on his shot, allowing him to excel attacking the basket.

It doesnt even need to be an interior defender. We need some better 2-way players. Of course interior defense is going to suffer when the opposition can blow by our perimeter defenders at will and get into the paint. That breaks down the whole defense and leaves vulnerabilities.

How dope would a frontcourt combo of Bam and Jonathan Isaac be?

You get all the defensive versatility (interior D and switching) while complementing Bam with a guy who can space the floor (and has some upside as a scorer). I feel like it's a near perfect fit. I know it's unlikely due to RFA, but I'm intrigued by an overpay to complete the team in a scenario where we pull someone like Oladipo in 2021.

Oladipo - Nunn
Butler - Herro
Robinson - KZ and 3&D
Isaac - KZ and 3&D
Bam - Silva

I'm dreaming... but it's fun

I haven't decided yet if this will be a good thing or a bad thing... if heat go on a losing streak and misses their playoffs... with this team and the beginning of the season we have had, riley fires spo no matter what?

I would never get Embiid if bam continues his development or stays like the one we saw against Atlanta, AD will it stay a Laker so...we would need Elite point guard and just 2 serviceable centers with strength... we keep developing young pf like Silva

Wasn’t Bam projected to become the next Tristan Thompson here?

Yes. His game was most comparable to Tristan Thompson than any other player in the league- unequivically- is what you mean I'm sure

Doesn’t matter guys, it’s not a big, or a small, a wing or a PG. That’s not what we need. We need a top 5 Superstar, and another top 10 player. We need stars to win. Or as DrHeat says we need whales. We are filled to the brim with sardines tadpoles and tuna fishes. That’s simply not gonna cut it in this league.

This team is GREAT for lining Mr Arisons pocket. Sell a bunch of blue vice jerseys and hats, sell a bunch of tickets and drinks. But a title is no where in the picture. We are pretenders.

When your “stars” are all stars that get voted in by coaches your stars are basically Noah and Deng, a guy like Siakam, a guy like Lowry Derozan or Vucevic. Middleton. Those guys were all all stars too. And none of those guys should be your best player, or your doomed. Jimmy and Bam are those guys.

We need guys that are all star starters. Multiple top 10 players. Guys like Curry, KD. Guys like Giannis, Leanord. Guys like Lillard. Harden. Guys like Lebron and Wade.

Just ask yourself this one simple question guys. Who did we have when we WON? Who guys? Wade and Shaq. Lebron Wade and Bosh. That’s what it takes! And even then we STRUGGLED mightily.

Sure every once in a blue moon a lil asterisk filled, injury riddled to your opponents, lucky shot that bounced all over the rim and top of the backboard miracle of god title lands in your lap like it did for Toronto. If that’s the type of title we are after then goodluck with that nonsense. And even then, the raps had a top defense AND a top 5 player, a real superstar, Leanord. For years they had Derozan and Lowry, fake stars or your avg bench “all star”. And they failed year after year.

We are the Raps, we are the Hawks. We are Boflex treadmill.

Don’t be fooled by a hot start and nba record overtime record lol. Eventually it averages out and we are back to where we belong, 4-6th seed.

Go get a superstar or 2. And if that can’t be done, trade the “all stars” we have for as many picks as you can get. Tank and tank some more! Tank until the wheels fall off and Wade reincarnated is drafted.

What I say is harsh, I know. :) but I speak only facts!

Mark my words, we won’t win a title until we have multiple superstars again. True superstars. And sorry to say, Jimmy and Bam ain’t them.

I mean wasn't it accepted as fact we were true contenders this year?

Hence all the talk about 2021 offseason and trying to get Giannis?

The Heat had a fun stretch this year with new guys stepping up, rookies playing like vets and Bam evolving into a very good big man.

If Bam continues to develop and Jimmy doesn't fall off a cliff, I like our chances on trying to land a top 10 player in the upcoming FA's.

I'm just going to enjoy this year unless the wheels fall off. A 2nd round entrance would be great to build upon next year.

Bourne85 is right, we are nothing but a boxflex treadmill machine right now. Sorry to be the Amazon delivery man of bad news, but we ain’t winning the top prize this year. Sure let’s enjoy this young team we have but don’t be expecting to see South Florida in the NBA finals.

We are this right now

In order to get off the treadmill, we need this

Heat need to make this move. He would be a better fit at power forward than Crowder. Release Hill.

Would he? Really? I mean, Crowder is a MUCH better rebounder despite being shorter in size.
