Kills the future of the team, put the Mitchell stuff to bed, takes away an elite recruiter and player everyone wants to play with. Takes the backbone of our entire defense away.
Would be a horrible move.

1. Brooklyn has Miami's best. They have the trades line up with confirmation to pick up 2 additional FRPs plus releasing OKC pick aswell. Until Brooklyn gives us an Approval Miami will not pull the trigger as one of the trades happens away from a third team to pick up assets.
2. NY is working hand in hand with Miami, surprising but to mutual degree. We cannot allow Utah to fleece NY and drive up Market. And NY wants us to nab Durant because around the league he is seen as a more valuable asset than Mitchell thus bringing the market back to tolerable levels. This help push the Gobert trade to operpayed obscurity and NY current offer should net them Mitchell.
3. Brooklyn GM and Execs have gone on family vacations and are mulling over our offer. Expect silence and small tidbits in the next 2 weeks with their final determination happening next.
4. More on the Durant meeting, he was heard saying I need to move on from this ish in the background as his Agent talked about their commitment to next season. He expressed his client has zero intentions of doing that. A Brooklyn exec was on the call as well although nothing was said from his end. They obviously know we know Durant wants nothing to do with them moving into any future negotiations to stay.
5. Herro's Agent did reach out to Miami, he has been traveling with his girlfriend nothing there as previously reported of lack of communication.
6. Theres a planned training sessions with a few Miami Heat players including Jimmy/Bam where Durant will be joining middle of next month August on the team board.

That belongs on the fantasy trade thread. If all it takes to move Duncan is second round picks we would have bought them and done that by now.
Then you have the Mavs giving up two first round draft pick.
The word delusional comes to mind. The Mavs, The Nets and The Spurs all say hard pass. Miami is the only one jumping up and down in that trade.

You gotta be smoking some questionable stuff if you think the Spurs and Mavs say no in that trade. A lotto protected 1st and an additional 1st for Lowry and Strus is a good deal for a team that already has Luka and was going hard for Lowry last year. Spurs are getting FOUR 2nd rounders just to take on Duncan (who, if he has a good year, can easily be flipped for more assets).
Nets are getting Herro, Jovic, Powell, AND 7 1sts lol

Thunder in - 2026 2nd, Heat pick in 2025 unprotected
