.......if you so called 'Heat fans' think this organization is so bad and terrible then why are you here!? To put one player over the organization is just garbage. We are developing the kid, he is benefiting from our discipline and professionalism. We don't merely unleash these sorts of players who are known to have blow ups and display immaturity - that would be a recipe for disaster. Instead we're nurturing him & his growth as a basketball player and as a man. As a result Hassan is thriving here, he is growing, he is slowly maturing. He has shown great attitude in the last month or so - you think he did that all on his own? He is benefiting from the guidance of this organization. From people like Zo, Juan, Wade, Bosh, Riles etc. He couldn't be in a better situation for himself & he has stated recently how he likes it here.

So shove all these wack a*s comments in your behinds.

Maybe he meant that if Whiteside had Wade's brain he wouldn't be out of the league in the first place so we wouldn't be able to pick him up from D-league. At least that's how I understood his post.

Well then........this is awkward

Nah. Your intention is good. Just chill.

What changed between Dragic and Whiteside?

Things are a little different lately between Goran Dragic and Hassan Whiteside. They are fitting increasingly better on the court and have been coming together for quick chats during games way more than they did early in the season.

“With Whitey, I don’t know what it was,” Dragic said. “At the beginning of the season, most of the time I would try to tell him something and he’d walk away, or he’d try to tell me something and I’d walk away. It was just– I don’t know. We didn’t click.

“But now after the All-Star break I’m looking for that lob more and I’m feeling more comfortable with him. I’ve never had big guys like Hassan to throw lobs to. It was a challenge for me to work on it, but he’s setting really good screens and I’m trying to find him every time. It’s working so far.”

Was their friction between them the first few months of the season?

“No, we were great off the court,” Dragic said. “Just—I don’t know. In the past, I never had a big guy in Phoenix or Houston to throw lobs to, and that’s one of his specialties. I needed some time to figure out those things and figure out how to get him involved. Once you have a few good games together, it opens up a little bit.”

Since the All-Star break, Dragic is averaging 19.3 points and seven assists while shooting 48.8 percent. Whiteside is putting up 18.4 points and 15 rebounds per game with a 60.7 field goal percentage.

Dragic had 21 assists to Whiteside in the entire first half of the season. Since the break, he has found him 12 times.

The big question: What changed?

“I don’t know,” Dragic said. “Probably that ejection he got. He got suspended and after that he’s really dialed in. Not only me, but he’s talking to all the guys more.”

Huge quote right here. Hassan realizing he needed to change his attitude. The results are clear,i hope he continues to Grow & mature.

Greetings! On T&T they are doing a year in review thread. The idea is to be objective. This will get you to my post.

If you feel like contributing, please try to remember that it's not the Heat board, and nobody will think you are serious if you are a homer. Also, (from experience) you can get warnings pretty easily, so measure your words.

### Guard Tyler Johnson, recovering from shoulder surgery, said he’s able to do everything on the court except shoot. He still has pain when he shoots and has been advised not to do that until the pain subsides. He said he remains optimistic about an April return.

Yea', I don't think we're better than Boston yet but we can beat our schedule to a third seed. Wouldn't be surprised if someone other than the Pacers end up being the 6th as well... hopefully not a pesky Detroit team (Who we should be able to handle anyway)

They don't want to announce anything because a lot is still up in the air. Bosh is trying to return this year but whether he will eventually be medically cleared is still in question. i don't think they will say anything until a course of action is finalized one way or the other. That might not be for another few weeks

I'm with ya. But this team has to want it. Yes we are playing better, yes we are improved. But we need to be hungry enough to wanna achieve big things. If so we lock up that 3rd no doubt.

from what was tweeted earlier by people like Wade and even Bosh being upbeat and then these current tweets .........it does sound like it may not be that serious. Hell bosh could even be cleared already but we've been playing so well we may be just preserving Chris for a while & bring him in closer to playoffs. To me it doesn't sound serious though and never really did.

Bosh wants to play, people say things like "You should focus on your health, shut it down and retire" as if thats something easy to do. According to Barry Jackson Bosh has been looking for a doctor that will give him the go ahead to play again this season but he hasn't had much luck in the regard and even if he did find someone to clear him he'd need to be able to convince the Heat's team doctors to do the same.

Ethan said that the Heat wanted to release a statement on Bosh a while ago but people in Bosh's camp were against that so the Heat's hands are tied.

My guess is that he doesn't want anything out there as long as theres still hope that he'll play again this year.

Whiteside, Deng, Dragic thriving in Bosh's absence

Barry Jackson | Sunday Buzz | Miami Herald
March 6, 2016

First, let's be clear about this: The Heat, long-term, is not a better team without Chris Bosh. Teams often thrive in short sample sizes without an All-Star, as the Clippers have done without Blake Griffin.

But here’s what’s also clear: Bosh’s absence has allowed players either to move into roles that fit them better or to maximize offensive talents to levels that some Heat players previously deemed unrealistic with this team.

Some of the recent success of Goran Dragic, Hassan Whiteside and Luol Deng is simply the byproduct of the fact that more minutes and shots are available. But there's more to it than that.

Here’s what the Heat and the rest of the NBA have learned in Bosh’s absence...

I personally think they don't want to talk about Bosh's situation because they don't want to mess up anything they got going right now. I'm interested to see if someone will clear him for next year, AND if he were to play again, would it happen again?

Even if Bosh was cleared by doctors to play, the Heat definitely would not let him play.

If any of you guys have time, watch this video:

Erik Spoelstra, sophomore guard for University of Portland, for the opposing team was on the court.

Whiteside has been laser-focused since a 90-minute meeting with Spoelstra, in his office, during the All-Star break. So what happened in that meeting?

“He told me I'm a top-15 player talent [wise]. It's just if I'm willing to come out and play like it every night,” Whiteside said. “Spo's motto is 1 percent better. I can come out here and have 10 blocks. It doesn't matter.

"He talks about being a better defender, being a better offensive player, being a better teammate, being a better person. We have an understanding of each other. We talked for so long. Me and coach Spo, we worked our way up to get here. Spo is my guy.”

Here’s a story: After the Heat, without Wade, scored 115 points against Atlanta in its first game after the All-Star break, Wade got up and gave a “speech” to teammates the next day, Dragic said.

The message? According to Dragic, Wade "said: 'We want to play like last game. Play your game. I am going to adapt, don't worry about that.’”

Oh wow, didn't know that.
