I think a posted this in a prior thread but when players do better than their draft spot is because their perceived lack of jump/run athleticism and measurements. You can attach an number to them a and they are easier to measure.. However feel for the game, BB IQ, balance, and work ethic are difficult to measure

Lots of players that are stars or really good players in the NBA today were taken later in the draft due to less than ideal size, athleticism and poor measurements. However they found a way to succeed and exceeded expectations relative to their draft position . Even Wade's measurements were not ideal at the time for his position.

Just a short list

Steve Nash
CJ Mcollum
Lou Williams
Steph Curry
Draymond Green
Klay Thompson
Jokic (not athletic enough)
Lowry (too small)
Marc Gasol ( not athletic enough)
Joe Ingles
Malcolm Brogdon
Khris Middlelton
Devin Booker
Derrick White
VanFleett

Lets give this kid a chance to show what he has

Its been more then 200 pages of draft talks folks and we end with a Kapono. We can be mad. But we'll need to find a way to stay optimistic. Not much else we can do.

Didn't catch Fernando to the Hawks, besides the Reddish pick. Pretty decent

Herro is far from just a specialist. He can flat out score and most importantly, create his own shot off the dribble. I do not see Reddick or Korver when I watch him. I honestly cant help but see Devin Booker and that's as close to a copy as possible.

Warming up to it more and more.

He dropped to 21, about as far as Porter, Nassir, Sekou from their mocked spots

He's 23, 6'8, with a 6'8 wingspan, not that surprising. I would have loved Clarke at 13, among a few others

Nope, we got next year. Traded 2021.

Edit: so we get to do this all again next year! Argue over tanking, pray to the lotto gods for a miracle, watch another team with similar odds who wins a couple less games get bumped up, have Riley take a player we all had rated lower than a couple others, then we take turns arguing over whether he’s the next coming of a bench scrub, role player or boarder line all-star.

Give this kid a chance. He might be the best thing since slice bread and might be the next Klay Thompson. We just need to find the next Curry

Totally agree...this guy gets buckets within a the flow of an offense.. He is not a specialist are all.. At this stage his offensive package is already better the both Richarson and Winslow (especially his off the dribble shooting) . He has the potential to be a 18 pt scorer in the league. Has great touch in floaters and the mid range. Crafty around the basket, good of the dribble and catching. As he gets stronger his defense and rim finishing numbers will get better
