At this point it seems like we are just being used by Utah as leverage to squeeze more out of NYK.
As I see it, going from ICC's updates & corroborated by numerous reports, we have certain control considering both KD & Mitchell have us 1st on their list. Both teams also want to do right by each player. Furthermore Ainge prefers Herro. He can pretend & front all he wants but he wants his slimy hands on Tyler.
IMO this NYK stuff is nothing, to get Miami to up it's offer Ainge wants - Riles ain't budging. The offer is there, take it or leave it. Jazz have already dropped their poker face after serious talks between Heat & Nets, suddenly announcing Mitchell as being available

They playing the same game, watch them come grovelling back after we focus back to KD.
Riles has put us at a certain advantage. Again, the longer this plays out the better for us. What's also good about our situation is, as much as we're swinging for the fences, if we run it back we still have a half decent team after filling weak spots on our roster. While BK & Utah may have likely fleeced organisations gutting them of assets. We can still acquire Mitchell later on down the rd & can land somebody @trade deadline. So we haven't much to lose by staying patient, grinding this thing out & not ponying up more than we need to.
