I'd be excited if we hadn't lost Herro. This feels like a Pyrrhic victory.

Yeah, I'm happy with Bam tonight. Jimmy & Bam play a great 2-man game... very effective and efficient and hard-to-beat. The other guys need to shoot (& make) 3s. Really wondering about the lineup change. Spo might favor Oladipo over Duncan, but Dipo's 3-pt shot is .333 and Robinson is .328. That's not much better. I think Robinson could be better if he gets a rhythm. Defense is a problem though of course.

Surely Dipo gets a look if Herro is going to miss extended time.

Exactly. Max get max expectations. Its not enough for Bam to have a great defensive game. He needs to get buckets too. He was poor offensively in 1st half and has been poor offensively past couple weeks. He's turned it around in 2nd half and we need this going foward to make up for loss of Herro. Some fans get sensitive when he's called out for disappearing from the offense. If they're gonna call him a top 15 player in the league, he needs to get buckets. He's not 34 like Jimmy. He's young and he the legs to great on both ends for extended minutes. He's looked great in 2nd half which is a great sign going foward
He needs to not be called things like a top 15 player and constantly and disrespectfully put in the same sentence as Jimmy. Stopping that type of hyperbole and flat out lying right there will do wonders in setting everyone's expectations on what he can be. He can absolutely still be a major contributor on a championship team, but the cornerstone talk must stop.
I' didn't call him top 15, some here have. But I think he has top 15 potential. In the Boston series in the finals run, he was the best player that series. But regardless if he's top 15 or not, he's on a max contract. When you are on a max, you need to be consistent offensively. If he can't then he's not untouchable if we want to improve the team. If we don't think he can get to that level, then what are we doing. Either package him and get someone better or rebuild. You can't contend with just one top 15 player, you need a 2nd guy. And the NBA cap doesn't allow you to have multiple max players. So he should be held to a higher standard. Same with Herro. And if either can't get to that level, then as a FO you need to make decisions. We can't just pay guys and not expect them to play to their salaries. Its the single biggest issue on this roster. A couple of guys on big money not named Butler don't play up to their contracts
Agree with you, except on him being the best player in the Boston series. I'm also hesitant to say he has top 15 potential. A Jaren Jackson Jr type is his ceiling, and he's not even better than JJR today. And how many ppl are calling JJR a top 15 player?
To me he is not untouchable at all when it comes to getting JB an actual running mate, but I do think he can be an incredible 3rd guy on a championship team. We've just structured the roster all wrong to make that happen.

Saudades.

Idk, As long as Duncan can hold his own on D, I think the space for Jimmy is more valuable than Dipo chucking some bricks and stopping the ball movement.

I love me some Jimbo but its pretty ridiculous to compare 35 points today and 35 points in 2013. Let alone 2006 and 2008 with the freaking Pistons and Celtics trolling around.

He's at least getting them the old-fashioned way, not a bunch of 3s.

Yes, he shot .330 from 3pt range, Duncan shot .328. Oladipo was putting them up at a rate of nearly 7 per 36 minutes. It's more on Duncan for shooting horrific for a player only paid to shoot 3s.
Fixed Ducan's 3pt%, I had .228 instead of .328.

Cool, don't guard him. One things for certain, he's lightyears ahead of Duncan on the defensive end.

What part was I wrong about? It's more about how bad Duncan has been from 3pt shooting, toss in defense and he should never see the floor except in offensive only possessions at the end of quarters.
