The truest unicorn PF that can play with Bam. For me you go all out here to get Lauri. Not sure what it’s going to take but Jovic, JJJ, Herro, and our 2030 1st and 2 second rd picks can all go out for him. Bam, Lauri, and Butler is it. Lauri might not be the biggest star but he’s the greatest fit of them all. Our front court would be set for the next decade. Fixing everything else around those two in the next few years would be easy.

Bucks got 2 quality rotation players that's way more than the Heat got (not counting Ware since hes not a signing/traded for player) Prince/Wright (not sure why they let him go) would be huge upgrades on the Heat.

Spurs would seem like the outright faves for Lauri if it comes down to the pick game. They can just offer Keldon Johnson and 5-6 1st.

Wemby and Lauri would be a stupid lethal front court. Geez. I can see why the Spurs would be highly interested cashing in some of that treasure trove they have.

Has that idiot Ethan Skolnick been right about anything this summer? He said a few weeks ago that Jimmy would never play under his current contract again. Whoops!

If the Spurs have their hat in the ring everyone else is irrelevant. Jazz really don’t need any of our players even the young ones. They have Hendricks ready to take over at PF so Jovic not really needed and they just drafted Cody Williams at SF. The Spurs have 4 1st alone next year in a loaded draft. Their pick cupboard is insane and makes us look like pure poverty.

After spending months last summer peddling trades that never happened, they are now taking the exact opposite approach and saying this front office has jack chit cooking.

Which means The Fraudfather will make a blockbuster trade within the next 48-72 hours.

I actually believe them on this. We don't have enough assets to even make the call let alone make a competitive offer for Markkanen. If Riles called, Ainge would just hang up cuz that would be a waste of everyone time.

Quit looking at a single transaction when not talking about your top players, look at what it can do for your teambuilding and what flexibility it gives you.

BTW... I'd rather have Martin at 10-12 million than Highsmith at 5-8.

Hell no! Highsmith at 5m-8m per is a better contract. Both of them are worth contracts in that $5m-$8m range.

I don't think Martin and Highsmith should be worth anywhere around the same amount of money, neither big money but not near the same amount. Miami seemed to think the same thing since even during a year Martin was injured, he played 27 minutes a night to Highsmith's 20 and I'm pretty sure we can all agree Martin's offensive potential is much higher than Highsmith's.

No, I don't agree with that. Martin has no more potential. Both are finished products. Neither is getting better. They aren't the same guy, but their value is identical.

The new rules are basically a soft core version of the hardcap which is why you’re seeing one dimensional players like Buddy hield getting paid drastically less

I don't think Herro is viewed as an albatross contract. A lot of ppl like to trash him every chance they get but the reality is he's too good of a player to simply dump the way some fans want to, and if you're looking to acquire that impact player on a larger deal he has the contract to help make the math work. Regarding Duncan, if they had more picks they could shed him. Hell there's probably a trade they could make right now that involve taking a player back with similar money its probably a matter if they have the appetite to do that vs. waiting on something else to materialize.

I dont think Herro is an albatross, he is just not worth the money he is being paid. That factored with this being a steep curve with the new CBA he is not a valued player, at least not if you value winning, and not if you value cap space which is in high demand, and not if you are trying to get some athletic fan favorite, or to have has the face of a franchise.

In 3 to 4 years with the new media deals, Herro won't look that bad, but by that point it will be time to either resign him or watch him leave in free agency. In that time a 6th man should be getting close to 30 mil a year, so assuming we cant trade him, it would not be crazy to see the front office talk themselves into giving him another 3/90 or 4/120 deal when you factor in the jump in the cap. That might be a nightmare for some.

We did call up asking for Mitchell and after hearing our offer good old Danny laughed then hung up.
