Guess who's arm that is under the basket with only Trae between him and the ball?

Spoiler:
IT WAS BAM!

Butler was dog#)($ tonight, but he at least had 9 assists, Herro had 0 assists and 4 TO to go with 26 points in 23 attempts.

That's some serious tunnel vision just brutal! Although I guess he might of seen him and just figured he'd take the shot anyways and if he missed Bam would probably get the rebound. But ya gotta get that passed into Bam there.

On a break, Oladipo is open in the corner, what happened?
Image

If he wanted to trade to Martin he should have went straight to pull Bogdanovic away from defending Martin and dump it back to him for a layup, instead he decided to eurostep and ended up passing to Martin and collided with him.

Image

Just let Herro shoot and let OTHERS DECIDED WHAT TO DO WITH THE BALL.

Bey shot up and it's going to be off time to put a body on someone to help the Heat secure a rebound. Herro sees the man he needs to block out!
Image

Oh my, Herro blocking out?
Image

Nope... in fact that player goes right by him for a putback dunk.

Image

I just don't get it, why not actually block him out, why pretend, he even jumped, he wanted the rebound more than blocking out which is how he gets so many rebounds as a guard. THIS IS WHY I SAID EVERYONE HAD TO GIVE GOOD EFFORT TONIGHT, THAT WAS #)%$( EFFORT. A simple box out would have secured Miami the rebound and saved 2 easy points.

But no... people will look at the points and say he did fine. ZERO ASSISTS, 4 TOs and horrific defense doesn't matter.

This one really pissed me off because Dipo had just checked in and made a huge block on the other end to ignite the break and then ran the floor to get open in the corner only to get ignored.

I think Butler was bad, but looking back he was 6-19, 9 assists, 3 TOs and 21 points, had he made 3 of those close layups/putbacks he'd have been 9-19 in FGs and put up 27 points, 9 assists and 3 TOs instead and still lost. He wasn't as bad on offense (and he was bad) as he was on defense, I didn't even notice him playing defense tonight which is odd.

This game for Butler missing close shots looked a lot like Butler 2 post-seasons ago against Milwaukee where he missed a bunch of bunnies.

Nah. You can't be scapegoating Herro for this game. He didn't have a good game and neither did the rest of the team. In fact others had a worse game. A loss like this is one of everyone. Are we gonna post clips of Butlers, Bam and everyone else's mistakes.

No no no, not scapegoating him (most of the team was bad), just pointing things out that happen all the time all game long that people ignore game after game and just say he's scoring 20 a night (not all that efficiently). These little things add up during games. Once I saw Herro get that contract last offseason I understood what that meant and completely expected this season. It didn't surprise me one bit. I did hope that Spoelstra may have moved Herro to the scoring 6th man role for the playoffs but that didn't happen.

But... you got see how those 3 plays I posted probably cost Miami 4-7 points, and with those points that would have magnified Butler's poor shooting game even more. You can't throw away possessions or give up easy points that were easily defended like boxing someone out vs letting them go by you for a putback dunk.

Also... unless Strus and Vincent are coming back on near vet minimums, they both need to go. Please don't let them be the next bad contracts handed out by the front office but then those are players they could have traded for assets before hitting free agency.

Isn't the pick based on regular season standings?
If we miss the playoffs we'd pick as if we finished 9th?

We lost the game in the first 20 minutes of the game.. by playing with too much speed/tempo, doing some free flowing offense and we were sloppy as hell. When we slowed the game down, get into our half court sets and cut the lead from 20 to 13, had we stayed in that rhythm from start to finish, we would have won.

Just dumb, all those long rebounds and dumb turnovers played into the Hawks hands. The Hawks would use like 5 seconds on the shot clock and find an open guy.. just stupid how we played into their hands.

I dont even want to win the next game to be honest,. For what, to get smoked by the Bucks in four? A repeat of how 2021 ended? Nah, im good. Get me the 14th pick with a slim chance it goes into the top 3.

Lol what? You clearly went back and cherry picked plays where you specifically could scapegoat him . You need to just own your Herro hate, whether it makes ppl think you're a weirdo or not, and stop the lies. Its not like this would be the first time we're seeing this from you lol.

That's probably the most annoying thing about the posters with clear agendas on this board. Everybody can clearly see what their agendas are, but they have the nerve to play in our faces about it.

Imagine how crazy I'd look if I pretended I didn't dislike LeBron James. Like just say it with your chest lol

Stop the lies? I think most people know my thoughts on him and from time to time I post images about just plain stupid plays.

Here's my thoughts since you really want to know.
Pros
Herro doesn't usually shy away from big shots like some people will.
He's a really good shooter from the outside.
He has some nice offensive skills.
Cons
He's a subpar playmaker for teammates, likes to hand off grenades at the end of the shot clock.
He wastes a lot of the shot clock looking for his own shot.
He makes many stupid plays which is why his calculated ORTG is bad.
Unathletic for an NBA player.
He's horrible on defense and is lazy on that side of the ball although he showed signs this year of giving effort on defense.
His new contract is the newest bad contract of the FO until they give Vincent his new contract this summer.

It did get to me with people saying he had a good game (hence me doing work to get the images to show what I was talking about) because he hit some shots against the worst defender in the league (Trae) while causing so many problems for the team with stupid plays. Butler was bad, Bam wasn't good, but Herro causes so many problems outside of his shooting the ball that people just ignore. Hell, Spoelstra was bad. Everyone but Lowry was bad for Miami.

If you want to win in the playoffs you have to play defense and give great effort, this Miami team no longer does that, and I think Herro has a lot to do with that. If you want to try to win with Herro you need to dump the defense and go almost exclusively with offense, 1 or 2 roleplaying defenders and a shot blocker at center.

Luis Arraez hit for the cycle tonight. The first Marlin to do so.

Meanwhile, Pajama Pat is in the spin cycle.

I think you'll see that sort of line from Adebayo before you'd see it from Butler.

That said, I would have gone with "inb4 Herro, Lowry, Vincent, and Strus combine to go 7-30 on 3s in a 108-95 loss".

Haha this is definitely the one

Sadly, that all ended up being really prescient:

Bam: 12 points 5-12fg

Herro, Vincent, Lowry, Strus: 11-29 3pt
