I hate that guy as much as you can hate something that doesn’t impact your life at all, but he’s right. From an optics perspective, it’s the 5th superstar we’ve had problems with on the way out.

Right or wrong l…fair or not, the optics are what they are. It just doesn’t look good.

And the stars keep coming....it doesnt matter TODAY that Zo had a career threatening kidney disease, Shaq was fat and lazy, and LeBron wanted to go home. Even D-Wade came crawling back to Miami less than two years after he left.

Butler is under contract and flat out quit on the team mid-season.

Do they keep coming, though? After Lebron left, which stars have come here, other than Jimmy…which let’s be real, was not a level 1 star to begin with…

I’m not saying Butler didn’t quit on his teams I’m just saying that it still doesn’t look good for us.

We haven't won anything since Lebron left. Also there is no way star players can make more money here with the new CBA. In reality they will be losing 50+ to come here, then factor in how we treat Jimmy, they wont make up that money here.

Thats not true, we've won our Conference twice. Something a lot of players have failed to do (including Butler before he came to Miami).

Look, no one likes Pierce, but notice all the posts are about attacking him and staying dead dead dead quiet about what he said. We can destroy the messenger, but that message is just simple common sense that we don't want to hear, thats why it stings so much. Thats why it pisses us off. It's like he said what we dont want anyone to say out loud. He is airing out our dirty little secret. Thats not even addressing the financial issue of 50+ mil lost by leaving X team to come here. Again Star players, their agents, their circle of influence all see what is happening and they are not idiots.

It’s a good narrative but it’s simply not true. Case in point is Jimmy chose to come to Miami even after he and his agent saw how they dealt with Wade. Why? Miami was willing to pay him what he wanted. The same reason he is willing to go anywhere now. Provided they pay him what he wants. The jobs in the NBA are limited. If a team has cap space someone will sign. As for Pierce, are we supposed to forget that his own team dumped him and KG cause they were washed up on big salaries too? How about how they treated Ray Allen? I doubt Tatum and Brown gave them a passing thought when they were signing their contracts now.

You just named Butler... Dame tried to force his way here... WE didn't want Beal... We were on KD's shortlist, same with Kyrie.... Some of yall live in an alternative reality, bro.

Would have to be Bane coming back with the emergence of rookie wells making him a cheap alternate.

From Miamis side you get $10M in expiring for Kennard to ease up some money, you can cut Duncan for his non guaranteed money(maybe resign if that’s allowed?) and trade Terrys expiring konchar and picks for Fox this summer.

Fox
Herro
Bane
Bam
Ware

That team is undoubtedly a better regular season team than we currently are with Jimmy who misses a ton of time and doesn’t try half the time when he does play. Playoffs who knows

We have to get a 1st in this deal if it even comes to being legit, idk if we will though. You can argue Bane is the most valuable piece being moved

* Pels also get 6 million in savings and takes them out of tax. Exactly what they are wanting to accomplish. Take on Clarke and Konchar but get a protected 1st rd pick.

To Grizzlies

Butler
Highsmith
J Rich

I don't care for Ingram AT ALL, but I still think this would be a good deal for the Heat, especially if they could keep Highsmith out of the deal.

Unfortunately this is how I feel too, doesn’t make a ton of sense for them to move Bane in a win now move. It’ll have to be smart Kennard Clark and konchar for Jimmy and Burks or something. We need to get a 1st in that deal

Wonder if Fox wants out of an Ingram sign and trade would interest them?

If Miami moves on Ingram I want Herbert Jones to n the deal. A Bam, Jones and Ingram frontcourt cause problems for opposing teams.

Adding Highsmith to the Butler trade adds a lot of spice

The Heat previously has shown interest in TCU guard Desmond Bane, considered one of the best shooters in the draft. Bane, represented by Miami Beach-based Seth Cohen, has been rising in some mock drafts; Yahoo has him 23rd.

If we can somehow get Bane in a deal for Jimmy, I’d drive him to the airport myself. That being said, that’s exactly why I doubt Memphis is stupid enough to do it.

This works.

I'd be surprised if Memphis was willing to part with Bane in a deal for Butler. In any case, I'd prefer a Butler/Richardson for Bane, Smart, and a 1st.

I'd think Pelicans could get more for Zion or atleast someone younger. Look at the Kat/Randle trade.

And do you think Zion would get down to the body fat percentage? Not saying he couldn't with work, but he hasn't really given any indication during his NBA career that he'd do it.

CBA and cap rules have absolutely created a different landscape that killed free agency and put Miami at a disadvantage always being in a pick deficit.

As for conflating that reality with the narrative of some Scarlett letter on Miami due to past dealings with players like mr sh*t-my-pants-and-put-me-in-a-wheelchair desperately wants to claim and some gloomers are happy to prop up, that lacks any semblance of merit or sense. Did we not just see Dame demand just Miami? Do we not see disgruntled stars continue to have interest in Miami? The issue is navigating the new CBA dynamics with an ever mortgaged future and some ill-advised contracts on the books. Miami hasn't been in a position to actualize that interest. The fan fiction about woe-is-me megastars not getting to demand anything they want of the organization so other starpower will sour on Miami is a joke.

They’ve made Herb untouchable with Murphy, the only 2 guys they won’t trade and in the past they’ve wanted 2+ 1sts for him. Not happening unfortunately, if we’re going the Pels route need to just go ahead and get Zion

We’re trading our superstar, why not take the gamble on a generational talent like Zion? If it doesn’t work out you cut him with his non guaranteed deal, if it does work out it’s a franchise altering move.

Herro 24
Bam 27
Zion 24
Fox 27

That’s a 7-8 year championship core
