At this rate the Hawks are probably just going to end up paying and keeping him.

Maybe, it might be at that point where it’s just in everyone’s best interest to part ways too though. Hawks may want a fresh start and he may want to start seriously competing

Hawks need to stay competitive though. They can’t just dump Trae for expiring’s and picks. They need talent. They don’t own their own pick outright till 2028. They will be looking for good players in positions of need back in return.

Who’s offering more than that and what’s the final package? Who needs a PG?

You know I’m as pessimistic as they come but Rozier, Anderson, JJJ, 2025 lottery pick, 2025 GSW pick, 2030 1st rd pick, 2027 and 2029 swaps should at least put us in the driver’s seat for a talented but depressed asset like Morant. I don’t think we need to give up Jovic in this. They don’t even need any type of young front court help. They have GG Jackson coming back next year.
Memphis would Consider trading ja if bam was In the trade and possibly even herro too

Nobody is getting ja easily

Weve got a 1st round date with Boston coming.

Would be epic to send them packing.

So dam disappointing that Jaquez and Rozier just fell off. If they were playing to their potential, a boston series would be very competitive.

Maybe their Wizard game synergy will carry over;)

Yeah maybe you’re right. I’ll go back to focusing on easier obtainable and cheaper targets like Sexton and Simons who won’t cost every single asset for the next 8 years.

I was watching that game late last night.. let me just say something, Ant.. hes got that IT factor.. nevermind the countless difficult shots

I was watching him down the stretch in the fourth quarter and just the way he held onto that ball, the way he just stood there with all that confidence, hes physically built like Wade in 2006.. this is a man who had it in his mind, hes going to leave it all on the floor to win the game. You can literally just see the aura around him, denver was **** themselves each time he had the basketball on his hands.

And he delivered. There was plays he was at the top of the key and he hasnt even started making a move and i knew he scored before he made the move.. hes got IT..

I wish he was on this team, but a guy like him, is priceless for Minnesota. Theres no amount of draft picks you can accept.

Just 23 years old, hasnt reached the age where people consider this is his prime, and playing like that.. yea..

I mean are we sure Jas value is all that high? Suspended several times for gun related incidents and has a questionable injury history. He’s young and he’s elite but he’s having the worst season since his sophomore season (probably due to their new offense he doesn’t like). Is it a guarantee his value is higher than expiring money attached to a young player and 2 1sts? We won’t know until we get to that point

He won’t be in Minny for too much longer, he’s destined for a bigger market and the KAT trade was the first domino

He’s way more realistic than the Hawks dealing Trae here. I’ll give you that.

Hes already signed up to the 2028-2029 season.. and theyll likely offer him another extension by 2027 for another 400 million.. hes locked in and hes not gonna get the luka treatment.

We had Butler with Bam and Herro and it wasn't enough. We needed a true 1st option to bump those guys down a rung in the pecking order. Now with Butler gone, we need TWO top options. We're screwed.

Reality is this team is closer to a complete tear down than a rise into championship contention. A stubborn front office that owes two future unprotected picks will keep us treading in mediocrity though.

Depends, if Tyler is able to show up in the playoffs and actually impact winning by knocking down open shots and not getting picked on defensively does he count as 1 considering he was a non factor in our last 2 deep runs? Would better regular season positioning counter more of that as well if we have a guy who’s available and actually tries in the regular season compared to Jimmy who was always out and half assing it majority of the time?

There’s alot of variables

No we don't--we just need synergy with the top option and continued development.

Bam and Jimmy always had overlap as neither really enhanced the other's game much and had significant overlap in the part of the court in which they generate/convert offensively.

Definitely need that real top option tho.

Its always about the conversation. Usually situations like Morant (polarizing players) Pat and Spo would talk to the player to see where their head is at and to see if there is a program and system Morant and Pat/Spo would be comfortable with. Remember Pat spoke with Iverson before he retired, many do not know Iverson joining the big 3 was an option. Heat and Iverson couldnt agree on what the commitments were outside of money.
