Maximizing assets in this case is an off-season problem. We can still make the playoffs and ANYTHING can happen. Draft picks are nice but never guaranteed. Even Pat said it himself. Us making the playoffs DESPITE these plethora of injuries and bad luck shows character, grit, pride, etc., all of the tools that make us a reputable organization. We have players like Dragic and Whiteside who we must continue to woe by succeeding, by any means. Losing doesn't make this better. You really think those players in our locker room wants to lose for a damn draft pick? Hell no. We have 4 straight home games and a road game against the lowly Sixers to finish the season, we have to compete not only for our playoff hopes by for the fan base who comes to these games. Tanking is only necessary when a situation like 07-08 happens where we had literal **** surrounding an injured Wade with future plans.

I'm against tanking, but if the team was playing the best they could against Detroit & Indiana, it doesn't matter whether we are trying to tank or not. Reality sucks, but we need to be better. I also don't think a draft pick would make an iota of difference for a team this bad and seriously doubt that Riley would be patient enough to develop a player like Mario Hesonja or Stanley Johnson. Nevertheless, we keep cheering for this team to be rewarded by good basketball, excellent player and team effort, and pleasant surprises by our front office, and as we say in Brasil: A esperança é a última coisa que morre.
