Not sure I agree. It's not part of a B2B (we've had two nights off actually) and it's a very winnable road game, the kind of games we gave away in bunches last season that came back to absolutely murder us; we finished one game away from hosting the Knicks in the first round rather than going on the road vs fkn Milwaukee. Why get cute with voluntary rest here and risk giving a W away?

I've always felt that the games we use for rest should be the B2Bs against elite teams where we're the underdog anyways, or games where we're already shorthanded and likely to lose where competing hard would be extra taxing on our healthy players. And there will be plenty of those throughout the season

No reason to tank early games. It just makes it harder on players later in the season. There’s a tough road trip coming up with B2B games against the Lakers/Clippers. That Clippers game is a good one to tank.

When it comes to resting the players, I think the Heat have a good group of guys that want to give max effort so if they feel they can't go they should let the staff know. Don't want a Struss situation with anyone else. Struss totally overexerted himself on that dunk attempt. He's got heart.

Heat have some grizzled vets, go easy. Iguodala looked burned out last season. Don't want that happening again. Stretch those lineups out.

Had a feeling we'd be flat for this one for some reason. I think it was all the "Butler for MVP" press and us being at #1 on Power Rankings. Has a distinct air of L about it.
