This gives me a sick pleasure in watching it come to fruition. Would love to have been a fly on their walls during Jimmy’s alpha mode game 2 4th.

Nothing delusional about the truth, say what you will but ALL my takes about Bam have come true whether some of you still want to be blind to it or not.

As for the Nuggets, we’re the FAR deeper team based on what we’ve seen these playoffs. They practically only go 7 deep and 1 of those 2 bench guys has been struggling in these playoffs. We have to wear them down with our physicality and we need the bench locked in. Have to make shots. Winner of this series takes title of best in the world between Jimmy and Jokic.

As for Bam vs Jokic, Bam just has to slow him down however he can and he needs to put pressure on Jokic defensively if Jokic guards him (I’m thinking Gordon will). Bam will have his hands completely full, his toughest challenge of his career by far. Jokic is a far more complete and better player than Embiid who Bam routinely locks up. Chances are Bam is not going to win the matchup with the should be 3 peat MVP but he needs to hold his own.

I honestly wouldn’t be shocked if the offense was Jimmy and the shooters with Bam at like 10 shots a game or less just taking the open opportunities he gets while Spo has him using all his energy on the defensive end. I’ve seen Bam look completely gassed this season twice, it was both games against Jokic. Did a great job on him @ Denver when he shot 40% and had like 3 turnovers being defended by Bam, in Miami Jokic was cooking him

That's the key to the series. Can Bam defend Jokic one on one so we don't have to double all the time. If he defend in single coverage for 60 or 70 % of the possessions, I'd feel really good about the series. If not, then our rotations have to be on point. And even if they are, Jokic might still pick us apart if we send a double.
For this series, Bam gotta be in the game anytime Jokic is in. And I don't care if he averages 0 points, he's gotta put max effort on making as hard on Jokic as he can defensively. And also boxing out and preventing offensive boards
On offense, its gonna have to be Butler with one or two huge games and everyone else making threes.

Might be better off with Love defending Jokic tbh. Save Bam the fouls and it's not like Jokic is going to blow by Love anyways. Also, Jokic will be able to pull Bam out of the paint like he did to AD, which is not good for Miami. Bam on Gordon and Love on Jokic imo.

I'd rather have Love on Jokic too...just to keep Bam out of foul trouble. Watched this dude hit shots last game against the Lakers that made me scream "HOW?!".

Yup. As we saw last series, the Lakers were better off with people other than AD guarding Jokic so AD could still protect the paint. I'd expect this assignment to go to Love, Zeller (gulp), and if needed even UD (see Tristan Thompson lol).

Look at that--we now have their rallying cry/cope angle for tonight's game. For game 3, it was hanging onto the idea that they play better on the road than at home.

It will be interesting to see if the Celtics players even believe what they're spouting right now. I know that everyone in the Heat locker room could not care less what the Celtics have to say or think.

I do expect to get Boston's best early. Something I've discussed before is how important Al Horford is to everything Boston does. He is the key to them being able to play 5-out/switch everything without losing size advantage. He is the key to them being able to go jumbo-sized while still maintaining 4 switchable plus defenders on the floor and allowing Rob Williams to try to hide from the action to maximize his impact as a help defender at the rim. He is also the key to their frontcourt being multifaceted enough to keep the offense in a flow.

There are a multitude of reasons why Boston is faltering at the hands of the Heat. I believe among them is the lesser version of Horford is resulting in the rest of the team having to face more grunt work burden than they want to (or know how to) deal with. Miami's stellar shotmaking is exacerbating that. boston gets into their flow with defensive stops first. That allows them to push in transition/semi-transition and get their flywheel going.

I believe Horford's age is showing after playing A LOT this season and having to defend Embiid all of last round. With that said, Horford and most of Boston's key players did get extra rest after logging lighter minutes last game. We can't let them get into a flow thinking they've rediscovered their identity.

Miami's mindset is resolute independent of outside forces/factors. Bam needs to have Horford thinking about retirement throughout the game. Dominate them early and they'll fold. Keep playing intelligent as a team and set the pace on focus, intensity, and effort.

Most importantly,

1) F**K boston

2) JUST KEEP STROKIN

Just like Lakers before them & other teams that have been down 0-3, they know they're going to eventually lose the series but will use & play for 'pride'. Unfortunately for Boston that pride was pummeled in gm3 when we again took their best punch, blew them out & they threw in the towel to start the 4th. That pride slowly crumbled when they lost 2 @home as a #2 seed to the 8th. That pride completely disappeared when their coach continued to make justifications for losses and recently stating how he hasn't gotten them ready to play. What ever 'pride' they think they are going to play with is fake & delusion to try & not be swept to save embarrassment.

Boston are completely discombobulated. They are perplexed, confused & fractured as a whole. They quit just like Philly & LA before them. There's just simply no coming back from this as we've already seen.

This 'don't let us win tonight' is nothing but desperate hope they know is impossible.
If u don't want 2b here, the way things work, u don't like it, then don't b here. U have 2 stand on something. If Miami ain't standing on something, they become alot of these organizations trying 2 find their identity. This is the culture, bro -Wade

Withstand Boston's best shot early and come out of that early surge in good shape and I think they will break as we grind them down for the final time!

Would be a handy combo off the bench for us, no doubt. You can bet that Cody is jealous af of his bro playing in a Conference Finals.

Can't believe we got Caleb on a 2-way initially, and then a very reasonable $7m per year 3 year deal.

EDIT: just realised the third year is a player option. Caleb definitely going to opt out of that one.

I wouldn’t trade anything of value for him but I definitely want him. He has an awful year this year, he shot like 30% from the field and 20 from three. Best time to grab him is now when he value is low.

Dru Smith very lucky he got that 500k this year. He should invest and manage a subway after all this-MettaWorldPanda
