Trade Jimmy for Kwahi Leonard and win a chip would be funny as hell.

He hasn’t handled this right. Regardless of how I feel about Jimmy, I am well aware, just like everybody is, that he doesn’t really start playing until March. The fans have been generally understanding until now. Not that it really matters, but this is the kind of thing that will turn the fan base against you.

If you’re seriously going to equate this guy having the highest level of success in his career and collecting 230M in the process with being a “battered woman” then I really hope these are your last few days on this team forum too.

It will be.

So, if a guy has some good times with a woman and even gives her a bunch of expensive gifts and money, she can't be battered? That's an odd way to think.

They aren’t going to make a trade to make a trade. They won’t take on long term salary unless it’s someone they really want as part of the new core.

My gut is they send Jimmy home and let him watch the rest of the season from his couch.

Also Jimmy just played his hand wrong. I think 80% of the fan base was on his side prior to tonight. That flipped and he just burnt bridges and made himself the bad guy again. Why do that to the only fanbase that still loves you? End on good terms and make Riley & Arison look like the bad guys. Bad move Jimmy. Good luck finding that contract this summer.

Some team will come out and trade for him here soon just like Phoenix came calling for Shaq. They’ll take a decent deal that involves expiring’s that can help the team out this year and allow them how to proceed next year. What they won’t do is take on bad contracts

Its probably best the Heat do not trade him at all. The only thing the Heat needs to do is make the playoffs while giving the young players some experience. Then they are in good position to make moves. Butler either he opts out the Heat can use the space if he opt-in then he is an expiring contract that will be valuable in the trade market.

I highly doubt he sits the whole year. Something will get done. A team out of no where with some good expiring contracts will come through. The NBA in itself wants Jimmy on the court not sitting at home

battered? you are really stretching it for Butler.

The Heat paid him max in his prime, built a team that was number 1 in the east and Butler missed the game winning shot.

Him being injured by Kelly Oubre Jr. was when a big portion of the fanbase was done with him. Butler talked his **** probably expecting to back it up the next season and then Riley told him to shut his mouth (in public, not private) and interesting enough, Butler did. I figured that was the end of the relationship but obviously Riley didn't.

Luckily you follow a FO that you seem to think does nothing wrong, good luck with them. I'm not sure the last time I heard a FO publicly tell one of their players THROUGH THE MEDIA to shut their mouth but obviously you and others thought it was a good thing because it was Pat Riley saying it.

We need to quit worrying about getting a "good return" for Jimmy and just focus on not getting a bad one.

I would accept salary cap relief at this point with nothing added. Give me Ben Simmons and filler and you've got a deal.

We could sit Jimmy, but that's going to be an ugly look. Better to just be done with it today.

Not a huge fan of how Jimmy and his team are handling it but I cant blame them. The front office failed him and this team.
I can't say I'm on Jimmy's side right now but I'm not backing this front office either. They Fcked this so bad.

Built? After adding Butler they didn't really add anything but role-players for half a decade, but boy was their stories they were going after "stars" while offering not much.

If you are moving Butler and looking at that 2026 window it’s a move that gives you a chance to hit big on the upside of a player with little downside risk. Would be an acceptable return for me

I’m down with Zion. Let’s get Zion in Heat shape and go on a huge run with him next year.

Let the young guys play this year and get some great experience

You can get a good return, I do believe it was mentioned he said send me anywhere. Just take the best package that doesn't bring back long term contracts.

Jimmy has that similar prickly, large personality like Shaq. So I’m not surprised it ends like this. One day when he has his jersey night and we get to celebrate the player he was in a Heat jersey, hands will be shaken, fences mended. Right now, it’s ugly and a divorce needs to happen for the sake of our season and the future of the franchise.

Get some picks, some flexibility in the cap and a young piece to add to our core. We should still make the playoffs, even without Jimmy. See who can step up.

Need to ensure we pay out the OKC pick and position ourselves for the next build now. We were close, so close, but didn’t get there. That happens in sports. Now we need to build a team that takes us one better.

Will always have love for Jimmy and the memories of these awesome 5-6 years. But it’s time to call it now.

Could we rectify Ben Simmons career and play him exclusively at the point full time?
