This is going to be a long process for him… ..

But if the Heat commit to it, it may pay off… history shows theyre not that patient with long term projects.. not when the Heat are always finding undrafted players that play a role immediately…

But it is what it is, he is here..

He should be a full time player at Sioux Falls this upcoming season.. in the meantime, not sure if he is still nursing the injury he suffered in the college season, if he still is, he needs to get healthy, probably use the time to gain some muscle mass and get stronger.

We probably wont know what he is until year 3. And he will be what, 22 then.. that is fine…

Speaking of Dragic, he took several years to turn into anything on the Suns and he was drafted at 22. He didnt become a star until his 2nd tenure on the Suns after a few seasons on the Rockets.

He was still a lot older than KJ is now. And I'd think being behind a legend like Steve Nash would be more helpful than hurtful when you're learning how to be a good nba pg.

The point is, Dragic was a project coming into the league at 22, so it makes sense KJ will be one too at 19.

It’s one thing if a player is a project, it’s another thing if they are a dud. He probably needs to be sent to the G-League for a season. If he can’t even show progress on a summer league or g league team, then he is likely a dud.

Its just so uncommon for the Heat to be developing a point guard so young, I'm just willing to think to think we won't be seeing him much outside the g league at all this season. Normally our young point guards are 23-25 year old 4 year college guys that know all the ins and out already and have their grown man bodies. And even then it takes a season for them to pop. Not a literal freshman from overseas.

It's a pity Chris Paul wants West Coast near LA, because he is probably one guy who, if still healthy and near last years production, doesn't hurt playing an old guy over a younger guy like Davion or Kasparas as he probably makes them way better the following season.

gasper needs alot of developmental time in the minor leagues before he is being considered to be an nba level type of player so for now davion it is :banghead:

I really don't understand the takes like "kid looks like he can't shoot" ... Form looks pretty pure. The turnovers are an issue though...

Not impressed with what I have seen from him so far and I liked him as our draft pick. Plenty of time for him to pick things up though. Hopefully he uses that amazing work ethic he keeps talking about to get better.
