I would put Kyrie as the favorite considering all the hoops that need to be jumped in order to get Durant. Problem is Kyrie is saying he's playing out the last year of his deal and will be finding his way to the Lakers. So are we hoping to sell him on the culture for one year?

Not that anyone cares now, but looks like Brunson signing with the Knicks as expected. Wonder if they will lose a 2nd round pick after Cuban cries about it

Explain why
You trade a 24YO for a 34YO, so you must expect immediate meningiful upgrade.
Whos encoring the defense in this KD Jimmy team? whos the young athletic force?
Whats the obsession with Bam? Dude is soft AF and disappears in big moments.
Yea he was nowhere to be found in game 7 of the ECF with our season on the line…..

damn yall. Good to read about basketball right now. Just talked to a girl who is super similar to me, and always friendly to see me, and when I offered to play a vidya game with her, she straight up said, "please do not ever play with me, and im dead serious right now."
Dang, didn't know she disliked me that much lol. Thought it shoulda been the opposite, coulda been great friends.
Are we getting Kyrie or Durant yet?

Durant were down to 3 scenerios.
Pushing the first, we don't have to give up Bam however it requires a 4 team trade to get Brooklyn a ton of picks and some young talent Herro, Lowry and Jovic plus fillers from other teams.
Didnt get into the other 2 as they were complicated and we need to give up Bam. They are back up.
Kirie is also on the table with 2 scenarios.
Miami can get it done with Lowry, fillers and picks without giving up Herro with Duncan going to a third team.
Second one includes Herro without giving up picks without involving another team.
Miami is walking away with either Durant or Kirie.
That first scenario has to involve OKC with whom we have a working relationship with...

Thats what I dont get.. why would Kevin wat to come to Miami with a gutted roster. You have to hold back Bam and Jimmy in order to put a good team together. We will be better with Bam, Jimmy, Kyrie, and a lot of our core than we would be with Durant, Jimmy, and minimum guys.
I agree. Durant is not coming here with Butler and Bam still on the roster and without one of them I don't see anything getting done. Suns on the other hand can beat our offer without them while maintaining Paul and Booker.
Problem is Aytons RFA complicates that deal. Giving Miami a fighters chance.

DeAndre Ayton is the major key to this all, we will see what unfolds

Is nobody learning anything from Kyrie's history? Boston was a disaster, Brooklyn was a disaster, he's a high risk with high reward player and why would you not want to do everything you can do to team up Butler and KD? KD almost caried the Nets past last year's champs, Butler's teams have only been beat by finalists the last 4 years.

Re: Offseason Thread Vol 3 - Brundog Millionaire
I’m just trying to figure out why the Nets would be so quick to trade Durant now. He is under contract for 4 years. Unless he plans on not playing and destroying whatever he has left of his reputation, it’s not going to happen. The 76er didn’t trade Simmons on day one. Just thinking out loud.

Well then the nets don’t deserve picks for Kyrie if he’s planning on leaving, Lowry for Kyrie straight up and see if we can get Atleast 1 ring

Sounds like Kyrie will be the much more cost effective options while Durant seems like we are competing with a lot of other stronger forces. Suns have all there picks. They can offer 2023,2025, 2027, and 2029 easily

Nothing will happen to the Knicks. Kind of feels like the league owes the Heat a 2nd rounder

If we work with OKC and give them Strus or even VIncent, maybe we entice them to unlock and give us a pick. We would be able to offer Brooklyn a huge offering of picks + Herro + Jovic + Duncan and Lowry. That likely is out best path to KD. Still likely not enough.
