Re: OffSeason Free Agent Thread...Let's build a DYNASTY!
Is there any confirmation of whom Riley is meeting with? Obviously all over the general board there are stories of the big name FA's meeting with X on Monday morning, Y Monday afternoon... any confirmed links to Miami?

I know Riley likes to keep things quiet, but with how quiet this has been already its really starting to feel like the off-season when we went after Odom.

MIAMI—
Q: Whew, that was a crazy first day of free agency, Ira, the money that Omer Asik got from the Rockets, Roy Hibbert might get from the Trail Blazers, and the Nuggets keeping Andre Miller. It makes you glad to know what the Heat already have in place. -- Art, Chicago.
A: And perhaps opens some insight into why Pat Riley said he was content going forward with Chris Bosh at center and with the combination of Mario Chalmers and Norris Cole at point guard. Not only don't the Heat have the means to overpay in free agency, but they don't have the need. As long as they add another scoring option on the wing they'll be fine.

Re: OffSeason Free Agent Thread...Let's build a DYNASTY!
@ 10a on July 2, 2012, I really don't care to overpay for a FA player, for once, I am glad that Pat Riley conducts business the way he does....I don't care if we don't get Allen, we'll get someone to help us. The good thing, after reading that Riley for once has decided to re-invent the Miami Heat into more of a small ball, scoring team, the FA needs are different.
I personally don't like Bosh playing Center a lot more(versus full time), but against the east teams, who's he really got to worry about?

Why aren't we going after Jet? Ray Allen is obviously re-signing with Boston.

Money
We have 3.1 mini MLE and VET min - have any players agent that have us on their list call Pat Riley and see which one these FA's can convince Riley to give them, otherwise....we'll wait.

and while we're at it
Q: What about Michael Redd? Some say he is done, but he finished the season very strong. -- Martin.
A: If you're thinking about something like that, then you might as well play James Jones, who already is under contract.

Terry is using the Heat to raise his signing price with the Mavs.
We have a excellent 3 point shooter named James Jones.
Give JJ more minutes ..
Bring in Varnado and Baby Big Z
Sign Rashard and Camby
Then get Ready for War .

Norris Cole would be deadly if he learns the teardrop. He gets to the basket so easily.

How? Were the Mavs offering him less than 3 million?

Its basically what Fisher did to the Heat last year. Also we are talking about Jason " I think im the best player in the league " Terry lol. $$$ will matter.

Im all in for Camby and Rashard... that's potentially a huge upgrade & the most realistic scenario... Celts can contend with that lineup they had against us plus Bradley and Jeff Green & are nice moving forward with Sullinger
Now the question is can we pry Camby from Houston because he apparently loves it there.

Did you not see us make him obsolete against the Knicks?
Even Miller tries to create more shots for himself.
Yes, but we are US, no one else will be that. No one else will play him like us and he gets off his shot against any team not named Miami Heat
Huh? That's not the way it works. We're not the only team to play playoff defense
Wade and Novak were teammates at marquette, but I don't think they like each other

The unrestricted free-agent center, Marcus Camby, has narrowed his choices to the New York Knicks, Miami Heat, San Antonio Spurs, Boston Celtics, and the Dallas Mavericks
No sign of Houston

Re: OffSeason Free Agent Thread...Let's build a DYNASTY!
Hibbert is gonna sign that max offer sheet with Portland, Indiana has to match. I don't think they will if they are serious about Kaman/Crawford/Gordon. If they match the max for Hibbert, then we don't have to worry about many upgrades for Indiana.
Bottom line? It seems like all of the talented centers that give us problems are pretty much leaving the east. Who is left?
- Chandler
- Noah
- Horford
- ?Howard? If he doesn't get traded to the west. If he does, replace this spot with Bynum
- Brook Lopez
Best part about this is that with all of them out west, they will pretty much kill each other getting to the finals. The eastern conference his more vulnerable to our small ball line up. I would love it if we could pick up Camby to match the "bigger" western teams (even though we beat teams that were "bigger" than us), technically).
Let's look at who is out west:
- M. Gasol
- ?Bynum? or ?Howard?, depending on a possible trade
- Al Jefferson
- Ibaka (even though this did not turn out to be a problem)
- Anthony Davis
- Timmy D
- Hibbert, if he signs Portland's offer sheet
- Asik, if he signs the Rockets offer sheet
- Gortat
- LMA
- Pau Gasol
- Dirk Nowitzki
- DeAndre Jordan
(I included Dirk, Pau, and LMA since they rotate over to the 5 for their team at points during the game)
So, who again would be exactly left out east?
