Kyle Guy's 6'3 168 lbs, he might have to red shirt the year at the closest Lechonera just for bodily insurance

I just watched all of those Herro highlights posted.

The dude's first step is garbage. He can't even reliably get past his man IN COLLEGE! Forget about the NBA.

He's a spot up shooter. We drafted a sharpshooting specialist at #13.

Jason Kapono comparison is dead on.

Does he need a first step if he develops into an elite shooter and can improve his ball handling? I wouldn't really say Curry has much of a first step, he gets to most of his offense off of screens, ball handling, creating space off the dribble and pump fakes.

..... so you think Herro is going to develop into one of the GOAT shooters ever.

Does Herro have Curry's elite ball handling skills? I mean... why even bring up Curry...

Shooting wise he certainly doesn't look like he'll be worse than a great shooter it would be very hard for anyone to reach Curry's level of shooting that being said I wouldn't consider elite shooting to be on the same level as GOAT shooting but can he be a 40%+ 3pt shooter while taking at least 5 or 7 attempts a game? Sure why not.

No I don't think he will get to that elite ball handling level but if he improves from there it will only help him. I mentioned Curry because my original comment before the one you quoted referenced him and I assumed you had read that in your response.

Does Herro need to become a star to make him worth the 13th pick? He could become Belinelli and I'd consider us drafting him at 13 to be the right move.

the Heat need to hit on a future all star in the draft.

I guarantee you Tyler Herro is not that guy.

need to take chances, not safe picks.

That's a fault in your expectation. Over the last 10 years only 2 all star caliber players have been drafted at 13. You just dont get that caliber a player often at that position. And no I don't think Herro is a future all star, nor do I think are any of the players drafted immediately after. But we set our expectations based on how much we like or don't like a player.

Star? no. BPA? yeah, maybe. Drafting for fit, instead of upside, is what contenders do. We could get Belinelli with our exception money

I think we are going to be drafting in the same spot next year. I doubt we will hit on a pick. Kawhis are super rare. I think Bol should have been taken, but if his medicals are scary then I can see the pass. I think our two picks are solid. We have to majorly win a free agency now.

Still no UDFA guys?

We seem to be asleep at the wheel this year.

Likely we will not find too many good UDFA come here because we have such a full roster.

We've signed a couple:

Jeremiah Martin, Memphis
Chris Silva, South Carolina
Nick Weiler-Babb, Iowa State
Kyle Alexander, Tennessee (who was singing in the Admiral Schofield videos I posted yesterday)

I think Herro has enough upside to become a great player and he's the kind of player you'd want playing next to star. We can't force Belinelli to play here and he's 33.
