Ant trade request coming next season or the following

Like I mentioned, the lesser of two evils...

Miami moves Rozier to Minnesota, Robinson somewhere they can get a helpful under 10 million dollar player (which also drops the tax bill for Minnesota and possibly Miami) and get back Randall and hopefully a helpful player.

Rozier takes over Conley's spot since he may be done, Naz Reed moves to staring PF and Minnesota looks to be a more complete team for the future at a lower smaller price.

Miami gets a bigger body at PF and you can fully move to a bigger front line with Bam and Randall starting with Ware and Jovic developing behind them which will also end the small ball era since you can live with just 3 of them if need to. Randall would be gone in 1-2 years (player option) and at that point you'd expect both Ware and Jovic to be ready to be starters depending on who you want to roll with Bam.

After this season, I don't think Dru Smith can sign another two-way contract, I believe 3 active years in the NBA is the max. Miami will have to sign him to a regular contract next year and at this point, why not throw him a minimum vet contract 1+1 or 2+1 at the end of this season or in the summer next year. At worst it seems he's a good influence on some of the players with his hard work.

Can’t be wasting roster spots on injured players. Let him play with the Skyforce until he’s fully back but the road is going to take a while. Full 2 way contract is 580k. I’m sure they’ll give him that in full

I'm not sure they can, I think there's a cap of 50% for future pay, at least before the season starts there is so I would think it extends the whole contract length.

Last year, Dru Smith made $1,801,769 guaranteed, so he's not broke, something I had forgot.

In the new CBA, teams have only 90 roster additions for two-way players during the regular season, so since Christopher and Johnson were on the active/inactive roster last night, that ate up 2 of Miami's 90 available two-way spots. So, there is a reason why Miami doesn't bring up two-way players all the time. As of now Miami's used 18 of their 90 two-way spots.

Meant just keeping him on his two way instead of releasing him. They basically signed him early to his two way this year so he can rehab with us. Maybe can’t do it next year but he won’t be ready next year but will still be able to rehab

He’s a true 4. Opens a 2 way spot for another guard. Can give DSJ a trial run on a 2 way

Kid is a baller, and unlike Josh Christopher that some here are hyping - Keshad's game can actually translate to the NBA level.

My question is - why the hell aren't we sigining him to a 4 year deal with 3 cheap season and the 4th a team option?

We keep developing these raw prospects and losing then real quick for nothing, why not give him some security and keep a good team friendly contract around longer?

Sounds like positioning for a trade or giving Stevens a 2 way and utilizing him with the Heat.

I agree this sounds like we might be positioning to bring in a PG via trade using Rozier’s contract.

Needs a vet PG

Let Stevens cook in the g league all year, or give him a 2-way

I’d still prefer someone like Lonzo over the names that have been floating around

Need more high IQ players to integrate with the existing pea brains on the roster

I’d love for the heat to trade Butler for Mathurin and TJ McConnell!

Rozier and 2026 2nd for Lonzo could be a very big possibility

Throw in Duncan and Jovic, bring back Vuc. Lonzo could workout but I’d hate to lose our most likely tradeable salary in what is likely a salary dump
