Id agree. But we are likely seeing Dragic, Waiters, JJ, Whiteside in the starting line up.

Kill me please.

the Heat need to hit on a future all star in the draft.

I guarantee you Tyler Herro is not that guy.

need to take chances, not safe picks.

That's a fault in your expectation. Over the last 10 years only 2 all star caliber players have been drafted at 13. You just dont get that caliber a player often at that position. And no I don't think Herro is a future all star, nor do I think are any of the players drafted immediately after. But we set our expectations based on how much we like or don't like a player.

Take a chance on someone who is raw and has that all-star upside. And I don't see it with Herro. Physical gifts and skill matters. Apart from his shooting everything else about him is average or below average.
He has ok handles, doesn't have a quick first step, not fast with the ball, a poor rim finisher and he's not a great athlete. There's only so much he can improve on.
We all lambasted the Bam pick last year because we didn't know much about him. But after going through the different draft reports on him most of us come around to that pick because of his elite athleticism. Reading on Herro, I don't think he'll be more than a good starting role player. There are couple players who were picked afterwards, that will see in a few years are better than him. We should have taken a bigger risk. If the risk didn't work, then it doesn't work. In comparing the two picks, Herro but have a bigger immediate impact but I think KZ ends up being the better player.

I don't think KZ's actually 6-9.5 with shoes like draft combine data says. Most shoes don't add on 2 inches. I'm guessing KZ's "actually" 6-8.5 with shoes on. Still a great height for a SF.

Belinelli+ and Trevor Ariza, good draft.

Did Rich, Winslow, Bam, and KO/DJJ disappear?

Nope. But this is Pat Riley. JRich will start too. But the others will be innocent the bench unless something is done.

Whiteside has definitely lost his starting role on this team for the foreseeable future.

That being said:

Dragic/Winslow
Waiters or J-Rich/Tyler Herro
J-Rich or Winslow/DJJ/KZ
Olynyk/JJ/Anderson
Bam/Whiteside

So, it’s up to who gonna be the starting SG & SF next year.

A few people didnt come around on Bam until they seen him in the summer league. And even then a lot were still skeptical. It will likely have to be the summer league again before we start to have more optimism. Which is rightfully so

I liked okpala but his major flaw is lack of playmaking. Tunnel vision on offense, lack of vision in general. He is like a black whole when he gets the ball. Very rsw for his bbiq. Coaches have their work cut out for him. Players like him though
1. Herro 2. Bol Bol 3. Seko 4. Bruno
unless we trade up for Barrett or trade down for PJ Washington

He has passing instincts and is a willing passer though

Definitely has potential in that department.

Does Arison have the balls to ask Riley to step down? I doubt it.

Hey unowen - welcome back. Haven’t seen you posting for a while, hopefully we see a resurgence.

And we have Heat board Freak sighting as well!

Don’t have as much time now as I used to have when I was a young man. I got a wife, daughter, and pets to look after. And I don’t live in Florida no more so I don’t get the Heat games on tv.

And quite frankly, I haven’t been a fan of Riley’s moves the past few years so I’ve lost interest.
For a long time it gave me nightmares, witnessing an injustice like that. It’s a constant reminder of just how unfair this world can be.I can still hear them taunting him, Silly Rabbit tricks are for kids.I mean why couldn’t they just give him some cereal?

Here is some of the potential with Okpala. Has very nice frame like Bam, without the muscles. Get him in the weight room to man up his body. Also work on his form on his shot. I dont know where all these players getting this habit of shooting on the opposite side of your shooting hand. It is made weird to be so common lately.

Imagine if this guy put on weight like Giannis, he’d be a seriously problem. Seems like he’s already pretty strong at the 215 pounds that he’s at right now. I doubt Spo is gonna play him much and i don’t know if he’ll come in and make an immediate impact but I believe he could mold into a great player in like 2-4 years.

Can you just explain the results to me as if I was 5?
The top photo Its the shooting percentage of Tyler Herro in certain location on the court. The bottom photo is the shooting percentage of the Heat team as a whole in certain location on the court. And it also gives an idea where the player and the team taking most of his shots. It can give you a heads up where Herro will be placed in the offense.
