Ewww, these second tier stars getting these massive overpays are what's driving up the market value.

I want to know what teams have exceptions left but can't find any good info online.

Feel like Schroder got to feel worse than Oubre right now. Could imagine a scenario where Schroder goes to the Clippers to spite the Lakers.

Man I wish we could somehow add Oubre here. He would perfectly round out our roster. Would add that above the rim dimension to our bench like DJJr did two seasons back but on much higher level. But reality would be that he'd likely go to a team where he can have a larger role.

We can easily agree with Yurtseven too. I don't think Vincent or Strus' deals really have anything to do with it.

I'm assuming we have a plan in place here for Omer to put a better deal infront of him and lock him up for a couple years on the cheap ala Duncan.

I hope it will be as you say. I understand signing early with players who have clients like Duncan and Dedmon but Vincent and Strus could have waited a bit for cap space.

How in the world could you possibly know that another team didn't offer Strus a contract?

neither of these deals have anything to do with Yurtseven. Haslem is what has to do with him. If haslem comes back, Yurts will come on a 2way

He's 25 and still hasn't proven anything. Maybe he got an offer but I don't believe there are teams willing for him. Would not take more than the minimum. I don't think we'll have a hard time holding it.

It will be interesting to see what kind of contract Oubre ends up getting. We were offering most of, if not the entire MLE and he turned down a meeting thinking he would have big offers elsewhere. He made a little fuss in GS about coming off the bench so I'm not sure we're the best fit anyway. He's got that Hassan Whiteside syndrome, could be elite in his role if he just focused on being a 3 and D guy but he seems to think he's on a star trajectory.

This my dream scenario going into next year with what's left out there.

Lowry/Jackson/Vincent
Robinson/Herro/Oladipo
Jimmy/Matthews/Strus
Tucker/Morris/KZ
Bam/Dedmond/Yurtseven

2 ways
Marcus Garrett
DJ Stewart

I agree with the other poster, there's nothing wrong with keeping a young player on min money. A Haslem that hasn't played in a half decade shouldn't be determining who we can and can't keep.

Yeah that's why I'm curious how much money teams got available right now. I imagine he could get the full MLE or all the non tax MLE but not sure who has that left to offer. The GS interest in Iggy could make things interesting should he circle back to us. Reggie Jacksons situation is intriguing especially with Schroder and quite a few other good PGs left out there.

Still has a chance with OKC and the Pels. Same with Schroder.

UD’s culture antics are not going to fly with this group. It’s time for him to announce his retirement gracefully. Need to lock up Yurtseven and get a backup PG. May also need an extra wing if KZ is added to the Lowry deal.

No more old farts that belong in retirement homes, we need young bulls like Winslow, or Stanley Johnson

UD is going nowhere. He’s the culture setter.

Are we trying to build a retirement home with those bricklayers?

I wouldn’t mind James Ennis. He’s 31 but he’s transformed himself into a real solid player. Fits our dog mentality off the bench and can hit shots. Knows the system.

He won’t fit? What are you talking about? Lowry, Jimmy, Tucker, Morris are totally Heat Culture which Haslem was a key driver.

Yurtseven looks like he can be what Meyers' potential could had been. Lets pick him up NOW.

Matthews wouldn't be my first choice was just reading the tea leaves. Also just realized he hasn't had a deep playoff run recently, he was with LAL last season and MIL the year before I thought it was the other way round for some reason. So maybe we're not looking at him.

So Ben Simmons agent trying to force Ben to the Warriors with these leaks. Lmao 76ers still want a franchise for Ben but the Warriors just want a sign and trade for Oubre lol

I mean this whole team is full of culture guys. If there was ever a year UDs contribution on the bench wasn't needed its likely this year. Give him a motivational coach role on the bench and let him wear warm ups if he wants but I don't really see a reason to give him a roster spot at age 41.

Return to Miami Heat
