I buy into the idea that KD's primary motivation in all this is largely to prove to all that he can win a ring without Steph and GS. Things did not end amicably there, if i recall.

This is one of those my boy said was BS and Brooklyn leaked this to drive up effort from Phoenix and Miami to up their offer. Durant from everything known around the league is he is worried about his legacy, going back to GSW will surely make him a big ring chaser. Imagine social media on a player going back to the same team consecutively after they win a title or go on a once in a lifetime run.

It makes no sense from Steph's standpoint either. most think winning 5 rings will not get him over LeBron coz of his lack of longevity and Lebron's insane longevity, winning 3 out of 5 with KD will not change that (might hurt his case from perception standpoint).

your boy said anything about Kyrie? does he really wanna stay with Nets regardless of KD? so many wack stories because of all the posturing comeon ICC

So Shaq arrived with super soakers on an 18 wheeler.

Lebron and Bosh arrived on a hydraulic lift with smoke machines.

How is Snek gonna arrive? I think it would be cool if they had a blue man group presentation with Snek incognito as one of the blue men. Reveals his identity at the end with a crescendo of drums and fireworks.

LOL, I just went on the Knicks board for the lol's. I see them fighting amongst themselves about giving up RJ to get this deal done, when I already know he is already on the table and there still off in the negotiations as Utah wants more.

From the conversations I have had, Lowry would be gone if we trade for Durant or Mitchell, however if not he will be staying and the plan is to use Duncan's salary to go for a PF. Lowry seems to be committed to getting in real Heat shape so I doubt they use him if a big Whale is not caught.

I'm surprised Lowry would be out in the Mitchell trade if that was the path we took. I figured it would be Herro, Robinson, and fillers since his contract is smaller than KD's.

It's possible we don't want to go with a tiny tot backcourt and Mitchell becomes the 1.

What they want and what they end up with might be vastly different. Miami seems to let teams know this is their last offer, take it or leave it. It's why Miami didn't trade at the deadline for Lowry and why they acquired Oladipo as time ran out of the same trade deadline.

It was really unsettling to find out recently that we only have two true 1st round picks to trade and in order to get a third we need to negotiate with OKC to take off the pick protections lol.

It's crazy to me that the team receiving the protected picks would be the ones who can later decide whether to remove protections. They're in place to protect Miami, why is it up to OKC to remove that protection?

Roby would have been such a slam dunk get but it is what it is. I'm hoping we do really have backup plans in place for securing a 4 after all this because going into the season with all these wings and guards and the prospects of having to give significant minutes to Martin and Highsmith at the 4 is appalling.

It's been mentioned that Miami already knows what OKC wants in order to remove the protection on the 2025 pick in order for Miami to unlock more picks. Don't think it's anymore more than another aspect of whatever transaction they are currently trying to put together.

I guess it's in case a draft is supposedly perceived as weak the team sending the picks can't just say alright I'll take my protections off.
