Wonder who the suitors are for oden right now, cavs chasing bynum. Spurs prob still going after Oden. We'll offer him the min, thats it. He hasnt played in like 100 years, if he wants more. Well. hes gonna go nowhere in his career. His best chance to revive his career is by winning, at a championship level. If he plays well in his one year with us, wins a title. He can go get his long term big time contract after that.

Heard Melo is going to opt out and Miami's roster for 2015 will be Lebron (PG), Wade (SG), Melo (SF), Bosh (PF), and random center. All going to take a huge paycut starting at 12.5mil :).

^^More likely than Lebron running to New York and obviously the center will be Milicic

Lebron/Melo would be a scary offensive duo

Yeah there's the rumour that the big-3 was supposed to be the big-4, but Melo didn't sign the same contract - went for a longer contract with more guaranteed money.

I honestly don't see it happening, but it would be effing awesome to see him come play here with the other 3, all at a reduced rate.

All four of them on the same team would be silly and would likely cause a coup

Yeah. Lol. There's also another one where a delusional Knicks fan claims that no other team in the nba could offer a trade package as good as the Knicks due to no one being able to offer as valuable a player as shumpert.

You do? Because it seems like all you do is whine about how old we are, all the time. Every offseason. Every signing we make leads to all these young guys who would compliment them perfectly (like Trey Thompkins) or about how the signing was too old. It gets tiresome. We're not rebuilding. If we were, you'd have a point. We're not. We're pushing for a three peat. Dynasty. Your projects belong in Sioux Falls, not Miami.
Try reading through the thread before you make assupmtions. But being too old will also have us looking like the 2006-2007 Heat. Sometimes you need to add some youth to mix things up, especially as Wade's legs seem to be losing it's bounce.

The youth you're describing isn't in the league. You keep talking about guys who no other team has seen fit to pick up and saying they're the answer to all our problems. You've done it for years. Why do you think Trey Thompkins saves this team? Why is he a better fit than James Ennis, Norris Cole, and Jarvis Varnado? Honestly, that's rhetorical so don't answer it, I won't read the response. See the fact is, your response doesn't matter. Miami isn't really going to waste their time developing guys with no shot at the league at this point. Ennis might get stashed overseas, and Varnado is about as likely to earn playing time as you are. Unless these kids are NBA ready, posses a skill or attribute that we don't already have, or is a blue chip prospect with tons of upside that we got at a bargain rate, they don't belong in Miami.
You just really wanted to talk about Haslem. It's cool... I can see through you though. And the guys I've mentioned as young choices would be more than happy to just be on this roster and develop their games. I'm not sure who you've seen that I've mentioned that would be in position to demand anything.

I don't care about Haslem one way or the other at this point. If it were up to me, he'd be a bench player, getting 10 minutes a night only when we needed him. I'd like us to target a new power player in free agency, 4 or 5 doesn't matter, just as long as they're tough. Someone who can compliment Bosh's game. Someone smart, fiery, and willing to do some heavy lifting.

As for your prospects, I don't care what they want. They don't belong here. Personally, I don't think Varnado belongs here. I think we should have gone after a veteran with that spot. I'm thrilled with Cole, don't get me wrong, and I'd be thrilled with any youth that could come in and contribute instantly and fill a need, but to me Varnado is a waste here. We need someone who can come in and do what Rashard Lewis, James Jones, Mike Miller, and even Juwan Howard have done. Sit and wait...but when called upon...contribute. Your young guys can't do that. No need for them...

I believe people confuse having a skilled NBA ready player who happens to be in his early 20's vs having a young player for the sake of having one in our roster.

Yeah I know, was sort of a reply to the ridiculous assertions in that Knicks thread.

On a whole other note, what will Lebron's next contract look like? Think he would accept a 6 year, $120million deal?

I LOL'd at that thread on the Knick board. If anything, Carmelo will go to LeBron, not the other way around. When you've established yourself as the best player in the world who has championship rings, you get others to play with you.

I say he will take less so something like 5 year 100-110 million dollar contract.

Lebron dont need any money. He would make much more money in endorsements with additional rings. He should always be willing to take less to get the best team possible around him, if trying to surpass jordan is really one of his bigger goals.

Lebron should not be paid the same as the big 2, he does way more. Superstars want to be paid, regardless of how selfless they might be. I have a feeling he would like to be paid according to his talents. Obviously we can't max him out but those other guys need to take deeper pay cuts. Lebron is a perennial MVP...if he takes less and less money then cool but I dont think he will necessarily want to

I dont think that's a fair assessment. Basketball is his livelihood and anyone would expect to get paid for what they do. Should Wade and Bosh always be willing to take less money as well, or is only LeBron supposed to sacrifice.

Did you read what I wrote? Lebron has mentioned being the best ever, that requires sacrifice, one of the things he will need to sacrifice is money.

I also clearly said that lebron would more than makeup any lost money from an NBA team with endorsements from winning more rings.

If chris bosh or wade said they wanted to be better than michael jordan i would expect them to sacrifice too.

I'm somewhat in agreement with Heatfan 87.

Bron doesn't need the money from a contract and he should and will give Arison a discount for making him into a champion.

Wade gave up more than Bron in the last negotiation - and Wade WAS the only champion then :-).

I think they all take less and keep the dynasty going. The millions they give up in salary will be far outweighed by what they gain in other financial areas. And if they go down as the greatest threesome ever that'll continue well after they retire.

It sounds daft to say it but 30m salary is not a big deal for them.
I remember when the Dolphins were perennial contenders
