After Okungwu, Reed is the closest to bam in term of a defensive backup, would be surprised if we dont give him a look...

If we dont work out Oturu, we probably wont take him

Who would you take between Nnaji and Reed in term of big ? (Perry seems too slow footedbto defend the perimeter)

Tough call rB. Id probably go with Zeke as he has big time offensive potential. He's got a quality shot with room for improvement, plus he draws fouls at a very high rate. He's not a vertical athlete on defense or the boards, but does well enough there to be considered a two way player.

Reed is a very active defender, but he reminds me of Nerlens Noel a bit. Thats not a bad thing, but it gives me the notion that he'll max out as good role player due to his lack of fluidity on offense.

Zeke will be able to stay on the floor in most situations whereas Reed looks like a guy who will have to be pulled occasionally.

Interesting thing is that apparently a few teams are looking to sell their second round picks due to covid financial hit, Quickly might be a reach at #20 but could be a steal at 35-40.

Quickley might end up as the best shooter of this draft, he can defend too. Skillset similar to rio chalmers

Been telling all you Quickley was going to be on our radar. He’s got pure Heat qualities and a ton of potential. Great three point percentage and lights out at the FT line like Herro. He’s our guy.

Per source:

“He brings more to the game than just his shooting. You’ve only seen around 50 or 60 percent of his game [in college], I can tell you. And that’s gonna surprise a lot of people,” Sodipo said.

Yeah you right, though Reed can put the ball on the floor and attack, his jumpshot is ugly, but he can shoot it like UD at least, his shooting % are not that bad

More Nnaji.

Kid has a good looking body. With his purported strong work ethic, and aggressive mentality, Zo could turn this kid into something.

Good breakdown of what makes Nnaji a skilled defender. He's pretty awesome.

Another positive of getting a guy like Nnaji (heck, Oturu and Jalen as well) is the ability to let the bigs rebound so the guards/wings can get out on the break. We use our guards/wings to rebound a lot, and it worked. However, it limited us in other areas. I think some of our guys could become fast break kings if given the ability to get up the court.

Nnaji, Oturu, and Jalen are also all very good offensive rebounders. Second chance points FTW. Zeke was also the best out of three at drawing free throws.

Reed might be the best prospect because of his defense, all you have to do is fix his jumpshot with fodor and you have the biggest steal in this draft...he still shot 75% ft and over 30% on 3s...

This kid at 6-9 with a 7-2 wingspan moves like a small forward, rebounds like a C, get blocks and steals, can put the ball on the floor, run like deer...very few players can do this, try to name 5...

Per 36 are no joke, kid is all over the court at a lenghty 6-9 ! :

REB 12.2
AST 1.8
BLK 2.9
STL 2.1
PTS 17.2

Nnaji reminds me of Skal Labbisiere (which is not a bad thing I liked Skal a lot)

Imagine if this team was lucky enough to draft McDaniels. They could have a future front court of McDaniels 6'10,Okpala 6'10. Adebayo 6'10

Why do we need luck to draft him?

Jaden McD doesn't have Heat culture from the neck up from what I've read. Not even on my board....if I had one.

Return to Miami Heat
