A lot of are issues right now is because we dont have a backup PF or a backup PG. Once we get Lowry/Dipo back and Morris lots of things should start clicking hopefully. As much as Robinson has sucked this year when hes locked in we become pretty much unbeatable. This team can be dangerous when fully healthy

The Beal rumors are about to be in full swing again, we’ve wanted him for years.

That's the dilemma with Spo.

No one wants him fired, but we all recognize that he's set in his ways.

And Pat Riley is super keen on continuity and does not want to groom another head coach.

What I find most interesting is how Spo has deviated from Riley's public statements about the vision for the team. Two examples come to mind:

* Riley wanted Bam and Whiteside to play together, which Spo never really did
* Riley predicted that Bam would take on a bigger role in the offense this year, especially thinking that Kyle Lowry would elevate Bam's game, but Spo diminished Bam's role, instead

On top of that, Riley signed on Yurtz to give us a big who can stretch the floor and potentially play alongside Bam. I'm sure Riley loved what he saw from Yurtz because he coached many of the game's greatest bigs and understands their importance in winning championships. I can't imagine he was happy about seeing Yutrz benched after we rose from the 6th seed to the 2nd seed and looked legit without Bam, Dedmon, and Jimmy.

So Riley and Spo are a bit at odds as to the vision for this team and their philosophy on how to win the game.

If Spo doesn't prove that his philosophy and style can win, there could be issues between him and Spo. If Spo doesn't win, hopefully, it results in Spo coming to his sense and adapting.

But Spo may not take too kindly to not having complete control of the team or not being able to do things his way.

Riley is not a moron. Spo is recognized as the best coach in the NBA. He gets fired today most of the other teams would fire their coach to hire him. This anti-Spoism isn't rooted in sense of reality. It's a fact that he got a less talented team to the finals and barring Dragic and Bam injury could have won a title. It's a fact last year's team got screwed by the league and poor roster construction. It's a fact that we have overperformed our current position in the table based on the injuries.
And now he's getting blasted cuz we are loosing without Lowry because of the obsession of going big. We have all this team and one thing is has been true regardless of who is one the floor, Lowry is the most important player on this team. Regardless if Lowry is scoring or not, the offense doesn't flow without him. We got by the Bam and Butler injuries not because of Yurt but because of Lowry. But somehow Yurt is the MVP of this team ???

oreon... spo is very good but not the best... and come the playoffs all of the teams are tired you don't want to burn out your players buying guarding people 50 pounds heavier all year round

You are all basing this on last season. We all know why last season sucked. We got screwed over by the league, covid and injuries. But the year before we got to the finals we got to finals playing small. This season when healthy we have had success playing small. What are the games when Lowry was playing when we got killed playing small ball.
Most of you have a biased on playing big when most teams don't. And you are using the excuse of recent losses on small ball. And that is just not fact.
Lets be honest be here. The no 1 reason we are struggling recently is the Lowry absence first and foremost. And secondly Butler has been ineffective in the clutch in close games.
And again when we had Lowry we were beating the elite teams playing small ball. There's no evidence from this season that this team can't compete playing this style. If there's point me to the series of games when we had Lowry where we are struggling.
Lets see how this team when Lowry is back before declaring we can't win playing a style that got to the finals two seasons ago and that has gotten us wins this season when Butler & Bam were out.
And on Spo, his peers and people who know the game like Zach Lowe are calling him the best coach in basketball. So its not just me.

It really is quite a phenomenon, but kinda makes sense considering

* Duncan is averaging 12ppg this year. The games where he scores 20-26 are double his average. If anyone of our key players doubles their season average, we probably win regardless
* He's had a lot of bad games this season, so getting production out of him is a surprise that our team doesn't count on nor depend on

This team, is one serious front court player away from dominating the league.

Why do I feel this is more about getting Kieff back on the floor than a trade. Be interesting if it was a trade with the Clips though.

Maybe there’s legs to that Robinson for Marcus Morris thing?

Sure, I'm sure Oladipo and the Heat were double checking the surgery and recovery to make sure everything was right. I'm not too worried about his athletic ability, I'm more worried about his rust from missing so much time since he first was injured.

I'm not look for Oladipo to be an All-Star talent, I'm looking for him to be a good defender who can also get 20 ppg.

Wood with an efficient 21-5-4 vs our nemesis Cavs in a win.

But it would also suck if they get healthy at the end and a potential 1st round matchup :banghead:

You add Wood and Dipo to our core and now we're cooking with fire.

Against playoff teams where you need size and defense, we'll have enough legit 2 way players that can create some offense.

Lowry/Vincent
Dipo/Herro
Jimmy/ (Martin or strus)
Wood/Tucker
Bam/Dedmon

Do it now, if Spo can make them click there's enough talent here to go all the way.

This team won't have anything left in the tank by the time the playoffs roll around.

Games that we should be winning by a comfortable margin turn into dog fights and losses.

“When you think about it, we go to the wire with the Clippers [in Friday’s home victory]. We go triple-overtime [in Saturday’s home loss to the Raptors]. And then we all play to fight back in Boston [a Monday road loss].

“I think a lot of us were kind of gassed.”

Raptors in 8th place, Celtics in 9th place.

If playoffs started today and those teams won their play-in, both teams would be a bad matchup.

Even if we win, they're capable of dragging the series and will wear us down.

Every team has to play 82 games.

If Heat flame out in the 1st round again you have to reconsider Spo as coach. Bubble was a unique situation where there was a fitness reset.

This style he plays is great for fresh legs but its a sprinting style and the NBA season is a marathon.

Good luck, Spo
