If neither Griffin or Hayward, then Johnson and Waiters.

I'll be pretty sad to see JJ go if that's how it works out. BG is a baller, but he ain't a dog.

In any scenario we Need to keep JJ, I would be very desapointed if we don't, in my opinion he is the most important player to the team.

If Waiters and JJ both sign for around $10 mil each we can sign another good player as well. Maybe Rudy Gay or somebody would sign for something similar.

Wouldn't mind seeing the Heat sign Turkish James Franco, if he was willing to sign a modest deal. Plug him into either forward spot.

Ersan can play. Was very good for Philly earlier this year, and fits the mould as a stretch 4 option.

I get the feeling we're gonna see a lot of Winslow at the 4 this season though too.

If prominent scout is right, then we will have money left for him. Replace Luke in the lineup. A versatile scorer who might help out when we hit some rough spots. Would feel pretty good about our lineup and its balance/depth with a guy like him.

Considering ages, health, and styles : Hayward > JJ > Blake for me.

Too lazy to do the match but if we can :

1.Trade TJ (love him but crowded at SG and expensive)
2.Trade Ellington (same)

3.Keep cheap Jrich and Mcgruber as backup PG/SG/SF
4.Keep JJ
5.Keep Dion
6.Add Hayward

Win.

Dragic/Rich
Dion/Mcruber
Hayward/Winslow
JJ/Bam/Winslow
Whiteside/Vet

Hate to let TJ go, but this team can go to the finals, and anything can happen in a series.

Firstly

Secondly. Watch out Jordan Clarkson and anyone else who will go at Dragic next season.

For this to happen we'd need to trade McBob as well, and either have Hayward take a discount, or one of JJ/Dion take our cap exception.

If it could happen, then I'd be all for it, but I just can't see it happening financially.

These $30m price tags, is why we need to be looking more carefully at trades for players like PG & LMA. Combined, these two make just under $41m next year - so it's likely we can trade for both and still have space to resign one of JJ/Dion (if we have McBob/TJ as part of the deals going out).

The other one to keep an eye on is the Boston trades - if they get stuck needing cap space, ratings Zeller's contract to get Crowder would be a good deal. He's a player we can use.

TJ not going anywhere. Very hard to trade. If you think he's expensive, the other team has to absorb a trade kicker on top of that. Bringing his annual figure closer to 21 per. Was hearing Albert Random discuss this on the radio. He also can't be traded without his consent until July 10th. If we get Waiters at a discounted price it eases the blow of TJ's spike next year. With Dragic and Waiters on value contracts they should be able to absorb TJ without any issues. TJ does need to be used to the fullest extent as the primary backup to both guard spots. Meaning this should make soon to be restricted F/A J Rich expendable. McGruder still on a budget contract and Wellington still cheap at 6 per for one year and even better if they negotiate a longer term on smaller annual.

J rich looks cheaper today but he's also going to be headed into the restricted free agent market with the chance at us staring at a poison pill again. Rather just keep the better player in TJ and bite the bullet for two years. By then both TJ and Dragic will be off the books.

just read some difference in free agency this season,
now some business can happen during that first week. Most notably, restricted free agents can sign offer sheets, cutting down the time a team giving them out must wait to see if they're matched. Players can also be waived and claimed off waivers, and teams can sign players to minimum contracts and two-way contracts.

Has anyone considered Ryan Anderson for McBob and Ellington? They could opt out of Ellington, we could send them cash so they stretch McBob, and we can resign JJ and Dion.

Pg: Dragic / Johnson
Sg: Waiters / Richardson
Sf: McGruder / Winslow
Pf: Anderson / Johnson
Cc: Whiteside / Bam

And who knows? Maybe another JJ/Waiters can be had at small forward for the Room Exception.

If Miami wants to make a trade happen in exchange for Carmelo Anthony around the month of January $7,248,461 is all the salary space we need (Josh McRoberts $6,021,175 and Luke Babbitt $1,227,286). Once the salary cap is full, we could sign Luke Babbitt using his early bird rights up to the amount of $8,000,000. The Heat could also sign four players with minimum salaries (partially guaranteed contracts). This amount of money will match the require salary to make a trade in exchange for Carmelo Anthony. And no assets will be needed with this transaction. Do we want to make it happen? Are we willing to spend this kind of money on Carmelo?

Josh McRoberts-----------------------------$6,021,175 (an expiring contract)
Luke Babbitt---------------------------------$8,000,000 (an expiring contract)
4 players with minimum salaries----------(partially guaranteed contracts)

Blake is one of the better players in this league. The mix of injuries, playing 2nd fiddle offensively to CP3, and the fact that the Warriors are dominant has really hindered perception on Blake. I think he can have a resurgence of sorts with the Heat. We can build the offense around him (let him be a primary or secondary facilitator) and create something interesting and exciting.

I can see Blake having a huge season in a new situation if it's the right one

Clippers agree to trade Chris Paul to Rockets

The Los Angeles Clippers have reached agreement on a trade to send All-Star point guard Chris Paul to the Houston Rockets, league sources told The Vertical.

Paul, 32, agreed to opt in to the final year of his $24.2 million contract, clearing the way for the Clippers to execute a trade with the Rockets and bring back assets for Paul, league sources said.

The Rockets will send the Clippers a package that includes guards Patrick Beverley and Lou Williams, forward Sam Dekker and a 2018 first-round pick (protected Nos. 1-3), league sources told The Vertical.

Paul had until Wednesday to opt out of the final year of his contract and become an unrestricted free agency.

Paul informed the Clippers late on Tuesday that he planned to sign with the Rockets in July free agency unless they worked out a trade with Houston, league sources said. Los Angeles was able to secure several tradable assets and a draft pick in the deal. The Clippers risked losing Paul for nothing in free agency.

Paul and Rockets All-Star guard James Harden discussed the possibility of a partnership at length, believing they can find a way to thrive together, league sources said.

Paul is a nine-time All-Star, nine-time All-NBA player and a nine-time All-Defensive team member. He played six seasons with Los Angeles after six seasons with New Orleans. For his career, Paul has averaged 18.7 points, 9.9 assists and 2.3 steals per game.
