This game just confirmed what we already knew heading into this season: our PGs suck and we have no interior rebounding/defense.

Napier turning out to be a quality starting pg would be big for this retool we're going through. With limited shot opportunities I'm worried he will lose his confidence as a scorer, which was one of his strengths coming out of college. The kid is gonna make rookie mistakes but it's something we'll have to live with. We know what we're getting from Rio and NoCo, let's fast-track Shabazz's development.
Shabazz was great defensively this game... people said he sucked but he really turned it on
got rebounds when needed even
I'd rather have him play at the end and live with the outcome, than to see Rio throw **** at the screen
Cole actually played well this game... but he is not our future.

Also, I don't like that Bosh didn't attack Hibberts feet on offense. Bosh tends to have horrible games against Indiana, cause we gameplan him to just take Hibbert out the paint. Hibbert doesn't have to the mobility to guard Bosh off the dribble. Today's game reminded me of the past few years when we would struggle against them, but basically we just didn't have a Lebron today.

The worst part is that among Cole, Chalmers, and Napier, we are trotting at least 2 of them out there for the majority of the game like it's a brilliant idea. Like something we should be proud of and need sporting them to the world.

Yea that's the most embarrassing part, I was hoping this team wouldn't play down to the competition. We smack Dallas at their place, and then get embarrassed by Indiana at ours..
Hopefully this doesn't become a trend.

the 3 guard line up only works in Phoenix
everyone else trying to do it and it's sucking
I hate this phenom. Small ball is killing us. Spo usually gets a handle on things way before everyone else sees it so... hopefully in due time when we trade Cole or even Rio, we get big line ups.

Phoenix have quality guards. It's delusional to think that it will work as well with what we have which are borderline jokes of PGs lol.
Today is a big time small ball failing. And it happens to happen a lot against teams which are good on boards. Annoying as hell! Spo needs to be more flexible, that's for sure.

That rebounding stat is ugly. Beat them in pretty much every category except for rebounds.

I don't think we'll be able to get a starting quality piece through trade this year, we just don't have the trade assets. Hopefully we trade those guys to take a flier on a big whos of the birdman role/type but basically young.
Like the suns traded Scola for two guys at the time who weren't proven commodities in Gerald Green and Plumlee, and that trade turned out to be great for them. I'm just damn tired of throwing out 3 guard lineups man..

Pretty much. I don't mind getting beat by a better team but putting up turds like tonight are just infuriating to watch. There was that one stretch at the end of the fourth where we tied it up and then just went full Chalmers. You never go full Chalmers

"Bosh shredding label of being soft player". This came out today lol
when our team gets hyped up and players, we lose... they get high off of their early success and get hit with reality
smh

well... we had Birch in our hands and gave it up for 2 guys who aren't seeing the floor. Our big man rotation is injury prone. I still don't understand, but oh well. And true, that happened with Jordan Hill as well. Also Ed Davis would have been nice... he signed for a 1mil with the Lakers... idk if we went after him. If not, thats a shame too

Speolstra should be screaming at the team in the locker room after the game. That effort was absolutely abhorrent. This team is nowhere near good enough to mail in a game like that and win.
If Bosh wants to play like a little bitch on both sides of the ball, take his ass out. Dude was too shook to dribble at Hibbert, played atrocious defense and decided he didn't want to rebound. Disgusting. Deng got torched off the dribble by whatever scrub he was guarding every time and in general, the entire team minus one or two guys should be ashamed of themselves.

There is absolutely zero excuse for the effort tonight. Every single person on their team outworked us and other than Hibbert, it wasn't even size just a matter of actually caring. This team needs every a single game.
I'm pissed.

CoolD nailed it. We play Howard, we lose. We play Jefferson, we lose. We play Hibbert, we lose. We need some size. We got out rebounded by all three, and our last two losses we were ravaged on the boards. Small ball is for the birds.
This loss wasn't about smallball. Solomon **** Hill got 10 boards against us. Donald Sloan got 6. Lavoy Allen got a ton. None of those guys are huge.

Oh man I really wanted Ed Davis on this team. Maybe he just really wanted to play in LA because I know for sure other teams would be willing to pay him more than 1 freaking million for his abilities. Maybe a guy whos an expiring like Perkins could be an option.. Adams has supplanted him as a starter and I actually think Rio is better than some of the perimeter guys they've been forced to throw out there with all their injuries. Whoever it is, it just has to be a guy who's physical and has energy and the potential to be a good role player for us like Birdman in the beginning.

Btw, while yes this was a game where we got our asses handled on the glass, this is the 3rd where we stopped our ball movement. And it results in a loss. Our 3 lowest assist games have been losses.
I truly believe they could have won this game if they moved the ball, even with everyone stinking it up.
Wade just said "But we have to have moments like this to see what works for us".
Rio not tryna be a hero at the end would be nice. I wouldn't mind a Rio 3, but him trying to pass the ball (turn over on fastbreak to McBob) and be a hero (offensive foul with 1 min left) isn't exactly ideal. Give the ball to Wade/Bosh. Especially Wade man.
Also our ball movement stops when there are big guys dominating us... a lot of that has to do with Bosh. He tries to go at them and it stalls the offense... don't have hard evidence on it but from the eye test thats what it looks like.
