Sounds like IQ is another UK product who has a more complete game than we've witnessed. Its really a benefit to draft from Kentucky for us these days when their players haven't shown their full game, or have underperformed expectations. Were able to draft guys who would go higher if they'd been catered to. Can we catch lightning in a bottle thrice?

Yeah, its the trust in Calipari coaching staff. Calipari does a great job networking with nba teams.

Was watching The Ringer draft cast on YouTube and Simmons mentioned this could be the year that teams are willing to forego their picks in favor of cap relief. He expects teams hit hardest financially by COVID will spend less.

That sounds great to me if I'm a Miami exec looking to add one more player. However, rookies are cost controlled, so they are one of the more financially sound ways to add to your team without killing your cap.

Averaging 2 blocks and 2 steals is one of the most difficult thing to do in basketball...It has been done only 6 time 4 of those times belonging to Olajuwon, imo the best center of all time. Other 2 guys to do it were David robinson and Gerald wallace

Trying to find out how many time it has been done in college...

Interesting thing, No players has ever averaged 2 blocks 2 steals 2 trees

I think he's a SG more then a PG, but I can't hate on a pick that brings elite shooting, good size and (hopefully) decent athleticism.

If he's quick enough to guard PG's, I think on offense we can fit him in next to Herro/Jimmy/Bam and cover for his lack of playmaking.
I just see him as an Eddie House role

That's really underestimating Quickly short Imo.

He's bigger, longer, probably more athletic and definitely more versatile as a scorer. His FT rate and his pull up game give a lot of room for optimism.

Im excited about the possibility of getting Hagan or one of his UK teammates Quickly or Maxey. We are definitely adding one or two players to compete for a spot this offseason.

Honestly if the NBA ran an extended bubble experience for "Summer League" they could bridge the gap with an extended season opening satisfying the players, giving the fans basketball and generating tv revenue at the same time.
1. Herro 2. Bol Bol 3. Seko 4. Bruno
unless we trade up for Barrett or trade down for PJ Washington

Tyler Bey might be better. Athleticism could mean his defense translates better.

I like Hagan, but are you saying to use a first round pick on him? That's a big reach. Hell, Quickley at 20 is a bit of a reach, but I can atleast imagine a Herro/Bam type rise for Quickley. Hagan might go undrafted. Just get him there or get a 2nd round pick from some team wanting to save money.

I strongly think we draft Quickley if no one falls, especially if we get him in for a workout.

Was wondering why the Heat only showed interest in Bane and don't seem to plan on working him out but maybe it's because they've watched him in another setting or he doesn't want to do a private workout with us.

Its likely because they do not have interest in him at 20 but later in the draft. If they make a move for a player later in the draft at least did some research. Workouts are probably only being used for possible picks at 20

Nah im saying looks like they can get one of those guys in the second round or undrafted likely Hagans. Calipari is sneaky but consistent win his habits. He doesnt always highlights his best players but the ones playing in crunch time are the ones he trusts the most. Thats Quickly Hagans and Maxey. prior years it was Bam and Herro despite not being starters. I see Hagans as the more realistic addition.

Fun to look back at the draft slotting of the best players by class. Very good players can be found anywhere and typically trump "potential" and "high ceiling" projects.

Saw on Twitter that we worked out JUCO prospect Jay Scrubb.

https://hashtagbasketball.com/nba-draft/content/everything-you-need-to-know-about-jay-scrubb

Looks an interesting type. 6'6", 220lbs and a lefty with a nice looking stroke - he certainly passes the eye test. According to that article, Scrubb averaged 21 points, 8 rebounds, and 1.3 steals on 52/39/75 shooting splits.

I see my boys the Ringer are on the Bane wagon too. Get around him, people.

I suspected we'd eventually be tied to Scrubb after I joked about him a few weeks ago.

Knew I'd seen the name in here before somewhere, Rapaz.

Such a 2Kesque name. Pretty unfortunate to be a baller and have the last name Scrubb tbh.

Would be ironic if he balled out though.

I'm liking me some Scrubb, I wonder if he would fall down to the 2nd round or even if he were to go undrafted? Doubt it lol.

Its hard for me to rate scrub because people make these highlight tapes of random moments and angles that make him look good. Instead showing more him in context of the game. Its like high-school or park highlights.
