His deal expires a year earlier than Russ' did. Either the Thunder were hell bent on adding even more first round picks or they really did just want to do right by Russ and trade rhim where he wanted to go.

They wanted the picks. They have so many options to build now. I dont fault them. Paul will probably be the biggest contact on there books surrounded by cheap young talented players.

I typically lurk, but I have to say I thought people were a bit too optimistic (actually I was thinking delusional) about our chances to land him. I thought OKC would just hold and wait until closer to mid season to do it, when they will have more leverage but they ended up getting a great deal.

Much better than what we could have given them, especially since the Heat weren't going to trade half their roster to match Russell's contract. Plus Russell probably far prefers playing with his bud Harden.

So they wanted to fleece us for young talent, but instead ended up trading for another terrible contract with an even older problematic 'star' while making a conference rival marginally better? :lol:

I feel bad for OKC fans. That is a team with truly awful management
