Re: Miami Heat Regular Season Thread Vol. Iggy
So I was thinking, with the NCAA Tourney to be played without fans, there's a considerable chance the NBA yoffs could follow suit... wouldn't that significantly besmirch the value of HCA? Since we absolutely suck on the road, might this increase our chances as road underdog in later rounds? The flip side to that is our own HCA would be devalued, but it's interesting to think about

Pretty punny how the "corona"virus is going to stop anybody from being "crowned" this year.

Health wise sure and that probably what's most important but the time off will create rust on players and of course players will lose some of their "game shape" cardio. With all the self quarantine situations, if the season or playoffs were to start up after the layoff, you might see a lot of bad basketball much like at the beginning of the season.
There has been some talk about moving the season back multiple months, this could be that time to start doing this. I'd rather see that happen then have a postponement, shorter offseason and then regular start time for the season, this could lead to more long term injuries because of the lack of rest in the offseason.

Redo the 2017 nba draft....does Bam go first?

I could only see maybe two people go ahead of bam and that's more just cause teams usually prefer the flashy guy that can put up 50 points on a random night, and that would be donovan Mitchell, and Jayson Tatum, but to be honest give me a choice between the three I still take bam 10 times out of 10. He has that type of fire to get to a championship, and I dont see that fire in the other two, dont get me wrong they are good players but bam is gonna be what helps u win a championship

I’ve got Tatum first, then Mitchell/Bam as 2a & 2b - it would depend on the team as to which they take.
If Bam starts to show range out to the 3 then he goes up to first. Giannis didn’t show range until year 3 - their year 3s are looking scarily similar (http://bkref.com/tiny/gMTAB), and not Bam-stan similar, legit similar.
Bam is a keeper and I wouldn’t include him in an Embiid trade, he’s be Bampering all over the league and between him and Jimmy we’ll have recruiters to rival Bron and Lowry (I was just
watching Lowry trying to weasel in on Jimmy & Bam’s recruiting efforts at the ASW).Re: Miami Heat Regular Season Thread Vol. Iggy

If we have the cash this offseason, perhaps we should look at splashing some cash towards Christian Wood (assuming he recovers fine, which he will).
Been on a tear for the Pistons, is a stretch 4-5 and can block shots. Would be a nice fit with Bam IMO.

The salary cap surely will go down this season tho. Right?

This is the worst post I have ever seen. Offers no analysis, not funny, and makes no sense. Beneath Chalm level of a post. Go outside and play run from coronavirus. You need some fresh air.

I think this city adapted really fast tbh. People already wanted nothing to do with anyone. Now they have a reason to justify their wants. Thought there would be more panic, but instead everyone seems like

Albert said in a tweet the other day that the nBA & the NBAPA can agree on a different figure if needed.
They did this to smooth the jumps after the big TV deal. If BRI takes a hit this year but they look good to start on time and have a full season (with fans in seats), they might want to adjust it up to help get the NBA strong again.

Everything is speculation at this point because we have no idea how long this postponement will be.

At this point, it's between him and Tatum as being the best players. I've watched Bam's impact on both sides of the floor in about 90% of the games this year. I've only payed attention to Tatum's O in the couple games we've played Boston, however, many Celtics fans swear by his defense.
Bam has continued to grow as the season has progressed. He's convinced me he can be a 20 point per game scorer. His FT% is steadily creeping back up. He went from being low 60s to pushing 70% before the cancellation. If he had some defensive help, he'd be even better. Right now, it's pretty routine to have him contest mid range jumpers AND get the board. That's some major effort. Need to find him a defensive running mate to spare him some energy for offense, where his first step and the repertoire of moves he's willing to unleash in a game, make him a very nice inside scoring presence. Forget the threes, let this guy own the paint.
Looks like the biggest busts of that draft lottery right now are Josh Jax, Frank Nit, and Dennis Smith. I was on board the JJ train, but was unaware that he was a few pennies short upstairs. He's really disappointed. Don't follow the overseas guys much, so didn't have much to say on FN. I went with the crowd on the DSJ opinions, but wasn't too impressed other than his occasional flashes. Kid just isn't good enough on the gray matter to be anything more than a one man show at times, it seems.
I did like Bam pre-draft. Had him as my 8th ranked prospect. For what it's worth, he really didn't showcase his all around game till he got here, this year. Hidden treasure concerning the skill set.
