I get why Ja is getting **** for the celebrations after all the gun stuff but it is funny how several players around the league do the celebration and it never got any recognition until Ja did it. Now the league is traumatized

Put the immaturity and availability issues aside for a second. On the court, in the playoffs, things slow down. Half court offense matters a lot. And that’s where Ja’s game hits a ceiling. He’s electric in transition and can break down defenses with speed, but when the game grinds to a halt his lack of a consistent jumper and off ball presence becomes a real liability.
He’s a great talent, but to be the best player on a title team, you need that mix of skill, leadership, availability and a game that scales in the playoffs.
He doesn't have most of the things mentioned and isn't a Heat guy.

To me he’s an elite talent and if you have the chance to add someone at that level you do it and let Spo and the guys figure it out. I think being a Heat guy is overrated, if he’s a competitor he’ll fit right in.
He’s performed well in the playoffs but definitely needs to improve his scoring efficiency, probably just part of his growth he was/is young

4 games left. 3 of the 4 are against teams which havent even won 30% of their games.

3 of the 4 are in the tank too.
- Philly has shut down Embiid, PG, Maxey and McCain.
- New Orleans has shut down Zion, McCollum, Ingram, Hawkins, etc
- Wizards are 2nd worst in the league.
Problem is by the time we play New Orleans and Washington, positions may be locked up and they may be playing loose and as spoilers.
I'm whatever on the Heat winning anything else in the regular season. Can't miss the play in, so what does it matter?
Do you really want 7th or 8th seed in the East and a chance to play off for who gets to play Boston? I doubt any mathematical possibility actually gets us to 7th, given Orlando and Bulls both own our tiebreakers, and Orlando and Atlanta play each other twice (someone has to win them!).
So your best chance is 8th seed road game vs 7th seed anyway. May as well be in the 9th vs 10th game and play off for the chance to face the loser of the 7 v 8 to get the Cavs instead, you'll be on the road either way there.
And yes that does mean you have to beat the 9th or 10th team first and possibly on the road too, but hey, if you can't win a road game against a 9th seed, you ain't winning anything significant anyway, and if you are the 10th seed and lose either the first or second play in game, then you still revert to a maybe 9-10th pick in the draft.
I'm happy with playing from 10th seed and trying to win both play in games, but I like the idea that if you somehow fail, your pick isn't 14th, it's more like 9 or 10, and if you get in, you play Cavs.

I just need them to lose the Bulls game, so Herro/Bam can get a rest for the last 2 and they can maybe get the best draft position possible.
Hope Herro sits vs the 76ers also.
I really don't need to see them in the playoffs this year (they literally have no chance), just give me the best draft pick possible.

Here’s the only math that matters, Mia would get swept if they happened to stumble into the playoffs
Most of the pro playoff advocates will inevitably be changing the channel at halftime each game when Mia is down by 30 against Clev or Bos

Re: 2025 Regular Season Thread Vol. 9
i think that miami has no real intentions to go anywhere this year. intentional or not wiggins and now herro are out so that means that we have little to no chance in to doing anything meaningful
this was a wasted season. jimmy should have been dealt last season so that the period of recovery for the heat would have been less. now you cant run it back with this same team and expect better results it wont happen. so. the only option that i see its a full rebuild with ware are maybe a couple of other players but most must go and the philosophy must change too. get sturdy and durable players that are also tall

Evolution & development of important young players is hardly a wasted season IMO. But it was def a season with no real contention posturing/hope as soon as the Jimmy drama started.

When it became clear that Rozier was their "offseason" addition, the writing was on the wall.

I’m really liking what I’ve seen from a development standpoint this season outside of Jaime. Majority of the guys are getting the reps they should be getting and they’re developing areas of their games, now we need to find the right guy to come in and be that player that takes them over the top

Everyone are trade assets until they find the star to build around. Develop the players (farm system) so they can be trade assets rather its trading for a veteran star or trading up in the draft.

I wish they go full rebuild but they won't. Next year might be another transition year. Develop the kids, hope Herro and Bam can go to another level. Then see what you can do in the 2026 FA. I would be okay with that as long as they don't make a dumb trade to stay relevant. Like going all in for KD. Develop your guys and work on acquiring more assets, that means moving guys like Wiggins for picks. There will be another star that is still in their prime who will ask out. Save your assets for that guy.
Going all in one aging stars makes no sense when you are not close

The most important game is against Bulls. Bulls play as one of the top teams in the East right now.
If the Heat win this game they will end the season at the 8th position.
And the season starts then with play in games.
If they win the first game they will play against Celtics.
If they win the second game in home they will play against Cavalliers.
They will hopefully play with full roster in play in games.
I think they are capable to fight against any opponent in the East.

Nah, you're off by a lot. The Heat need to go 4-0 and then Bulls have to go 2-2 and Hawks 3-2, thats the only realistic scenario left for them to get into the 8th spot, because they have the tie breaker vs the Hawks, while Bulls have the tie breaker vs them.
If Bulls go 3-1 -> they are ahead of the Heat, if Hawks go 4-1 they are ahead of the Heat, the Magic only need to go 2-2 to stay ahead of the Heat.
Even the scenarios where Heat end up 9th are already small, the most realistic way is for Bulls to go 2-2 and Heat 4-0.
Yes playing at home is an advantage but man it's not worth playing through injuries, Herro had a really tough fall just rest him.
Get more losses they are really close to the Blazers/Suns in the tank standings, this 4-8% higher chance to land a top 4 pick is more important than home court in 9 vs 10 and a 5% higher chance to get into playoffs.

Bulls play against Cavalliers which is probably a loss and against Heat.
If Heat win Bulls they will most likely end above them.
Hawks play 2 times against Magic who are a better team.
Lets see

Heat need to make the playoffs this year so they can start a proper rebuild without owing two future unprotected picks. Can't begin the necessary tank if we owe our pick to OKC next year.
