Magic starting small forward Matt Barnes, an unrestricted free agent, told the Sentinel on Friday that he’s talked to the star-studded Miami Heat about joining LeBron James, Dwyane Wade and Chris Bosh.
“We’ve been in contact with Miami,” Barnes said. “No question they’ve added some pieces with the Big Three.”
Barnes said he also has been in contact with the L.A. Lakers, Dallas Mavericks, Detroit Pistons and New York Knicks.
But not so much the Magic, the team he says is still “No. 1 on my list. I definitely want to stay in Orlando. That’s been my family’s stance as well.”

Do we really want a player on our roster who needs to have the ball in his hands 90% of the time in order to be productive? And that is not even considering his locker room/practice antics, his partying ways and the fact that he sucked in his last three stops...

Apart from the fact that we can't offer him anymore than the minimum, there is no way the Lakers don't pay whatever it takes to keep him. Kobe Bryant, the real general manager of the Lakers, will throw a tantrum.
Shaq - I definitely want him on the team.
Iverson - I don't really want on the team. I just want him to win a ring, so would take him as our 12th man just for that, just like how Mitch Ritchmond got one from the Lakers.
Q: What's the holdup with the Miller and Haslem deals? -- Matt.
A: The Timberwolves have to take care of an administrative matter before they can close out the Michael Beasley acquisition. Once Minnesota takes care of that, Michael will be dealt and the cap space needed for Miller and Haslem will open for the Heat.

Also, do not rule out a return by James Jones. Those wheels already have been set in motion. Minimum roster not looking so minimal.
