LOL the Heat could definitely get a second fanbase in Seattle after (a) beating OKC, (b) signing Ray, and then (c) signing Lewis

We are NBA Champions, let Camby or whomever go play for whoever they want, they all know how much money we have available, there is is no need to make major adjustments for a player like this. If we cannot get a C with the options WE have available, just work with what we got...PERIOD
FOCK all these players who want to dictate their terms to us, we won WITHOUT a center, Camby didn't even come intro the league as a CENTER anway.

no we don't, the way we play our centers, what's the difference between a BRAND NEW center like Camby coming in trying to learn our system versus giving PITTMAN whose has been in our system for 2 years a REAL shot, maybe not to start, but some REGULAR minutes?
Getting a little bored with all of this outside HELP, we are champions, yet we sound greedy and a little desperate. Camby doesn't excite me at all.
We just signed an impact player in Allen, Camby has not convinced me that he can flourish in our system.

THIS. Rockets think we are desperate to find a starting center tha ts why they offer this unacceptable sign and trade...but screw them...we are WORLD CHAMPS

Yeah at this point I'm a little more excited for Lewis. The Champions don't need to bend over for anyone.

Cole is a good young PG but he is replaceable and adding him to a Joel(Negative Value) for a legit Center, is a no brainier. Honestly with Ray in town, Cole will see alot less minutes so his value will drop.
Camby-Dex-FA
Bosh-UD
Bron-Battier
Wade-Ray
Chalmers-Fisher? He wants to join us.
We would still need to find another Center, which proves why we should do this deal. We need size in a very bad way. Bosh can't bang all season long and against the bigger teams, we need it.
But didn't Fisher say that he thought OKC was a better fit for him? I like your posts, but my vote is NO on Cole, damn what draft picks will we have on our roster, Cole did not hurt us, don't like this "dog and pony" show for Camby.

Miami not interested in sign and
trade scenarios that include Norris
Cole or Joel Anthony, sources say.
Makes Camby an unlikely fit.
I don't see why they wouldnt want to give up Joel for Camby
seems like Lewis is our number 1 priority now

For real.
The vet min for Camby is something like 1.4mil..... so he's thinking of going to sit on the Knicks bench behind Tyson Chandler instead of starting for the Miami heat because of 1.7 million??? probably less due to no state tax in FL?
1.7 million. That matters that much to Camby, I don't think we want him on the team then. I thought he wanted to be a part of something special and win before he retired. Guess not.
I hate this graveling for this guy, every FA knows/knew what we had available going into this FA season, WE DO NOT NEED TO PANDER TO GUYS THAT FORCE OUR HANDS financially. We are not the team to come to if you need a big salary AND and chance to win a ring.... The most we have is 1.5, maybe we can find another half mil under the mattresses, but that's it.

Does not compute.

i think a Ray Ray and Lewis off season is a pretty successful one given we didnt really give up anything from our defending champion team. if Turiaf gets his money on another team then good luck to him, we got to the finals last year without him and he didn't get many/any minutes on this years run anyway. I hope we can bring back Harris and call it so we can get back to work on defending the chip!

Actually change my mind on need for Camby. We don't need. It will be a blessing in disguise. Pittman should get regular minutes and really develop into a solid NBA center next season. Give him confidence and I'm confident he will flourish.

I wouldn't mind Lewis. He was pretty much my favorite player in the league back when he was on the Sonics. Obviously, those days are long gone, but he can still contribute.

Re: OffSeason Free Agent Thread...Let's build a DYNASTY! 2.0
A bit of a random thought, but I wish I could do a Jedi mind trick to get Antawn Jamison to play for the vet min. Guy puts up great numbers even at his age. Just read an article about him on the front page of nba.com and it says he's interested in playing for a championship caliber team, but none have shown interest so far. So he's thinking of signing with his hometown team, the freakin' Charlotte Bobcats.
While he's not the shot blocking, rebounding machine we're looking for, just the thought of a Chalmers/Wade/LeBron/Jamison/Bosh starting line-up...to use a line from the great Jim Mandich..."makes my toes tingle". Ah well

Here is a friendly reminder of the last 24 hours
Ray Allen to join Heat
Here is what another FA said about joining the HEAT
Lewis is visiting Sunday, and now that Miami has given its $3.1 million exception to Allen, Lewis likely would not object to taking a minimum salary from the Heat --- unless another attractive team offers substantially more.
Lewis has told associates that he’s not hung up over salary because he’s making $13.7 million in a Hornets buyout this coming season. He also has told associates that Miami very much appeals to him.

Re: OffSeason Free Agent Thread...Let's build a DYNASTY! 2.0
Lewis is a low risk, high reward signing for the MIN. If he sucks and he has dropped off that much due to getting busted for PED's or whatever the hell is was he was doing, we can bench him/trade him. If he breaks out and plays for that next pay check with confidence and determination, it will be soooo good for us. A steal. Especially if we used him as the stretch 4 Orlando used him as in 2009.
Come on over, Shard!
Camby, I know you want a paycheck, but for you, your agent, and every other center out there, you guys know how much the Heat can offer you $$$ wise plus no state tax. We cannot bend back that far over and give up too many assets, especially one's key for the future like Norris Cole and a mid-1st round draft pick. So, don't expect us to bend back too far over. Many people have made sacrifices to be in this team:
- Wade
- James
- Bosh
- Haslem
- Miller
- Battier
- hell, even Jones
- Allen
These guys want to be a part of something special and had to sacrifice. Last June, they reaped the benefits of it (except Ray, of course). So, if you are not that person, then thanks, but no thanks.
