Bosh seems to be in the same category as gasol was before he went to the lakers( even the first year with the lakers). Everyone calling him soft, just like they do bosh. Funny how things change when your on a great team. It sould be interesting to see how he develops with the heat as oppose the raps.

I'll be honest, before LeBron was in play, I felt Wade/Bosh would've easily been the next Kobe/Gasol.

He might be a little better individually.

IMO Bosh is more athletic than Gasol, and is definitely not as soft as Gasol. I believe if you sub Bosh for Gasol on the Lakers that they are indeed a better team.

Question, what's up with everyone sporting Pokemon sigs? Is it something to do with the OT board or something?

The big difference is that Pau can play center pretty efficiently and has the body to do it. Bosh, not so much.

They are similiar in some fashion that both players are not physical players. The reason Gasol is soft, is because he shy aways when players get physical with him. He is still that player, but he did display the attitude of attacking when teams get physical in the final two games of the NBA finals. Which is one of the major reason they won. Those two games doesnt mean he proven not to be soft, because its likely he will revert back to being a player who disappears when things get physical.

Bosh is not a physical player because he is just skinny. But I do not know if he has a history of backing down when games get physical? Maybe some Rap fans can answer that for me. The difference between Gasol and Bosh, is Gasol more of a great passer than Bosh, Bosh is more of a scorer than Gasol. Bosh may be a better shot blocker than Gasol on defense.

Wouldnt we but Bosh at center and Haslem at PF considering Bosh is taller than Haslem?

Wasn't Rasheed Wallace taller than Ben Wallace? The Pistons had Ben at the C.

Haslem is better defensively and he'll likely be guarding Gasol so i figure he'll be the C. Plus, Odom I would figure would be the one guarding Bosh as well.

Gasol is better defensively while Chris has a better jump shot.

I've honestly watched both play on their previous teams, and Bosh looks like 10 times the player.

Gasol is very skilled, yet extremely lacking in the athletic department and toughness.

Bosh just seems more explosive, more athletic, and about just as skilled if you ask me....

I guess is no about individual play but Team play, I think Gasol was/is the perfect fit for the Lakers with their offense and chemistry for that team.

Gasol is a very skillful player and has lead his country to gold medal in the world championships before arriving to the Lakers so while his NBA career was ordinary - internationaly he was consider one of the best players.

I don't know what system Miami is going to run, as I would think that their new influx of players - 7 new- their system may change from previous years. I would think that you need to see all your new players play together to see what they do..

About Gason being soft, if his team won the world championship ( he was the MVP) while being level as "soft" what would that make that team full on NBA players that lost in that tournament?

Their productivity is extremely similar. Bosh has a more diverse offensive skill-set and gets to the line more, but Gasol is a better passer (although Bosh is also good at that for a big) and has some more height (although again, Bosh is no slouch in that regard, just a slight advantage for Gasol).

The biggest differences between the two are age (Gasol is four years older), upside (I think Bosh still has room to improve, although on this team it'll have to be in areas other than scoring), and that starting now Bosh is the third option on his team while Gasol is the second on his for the foreseeable future.

I think we really got ourselves an underrated baller. He might not be a generational superstar on the level of James and Wade, but he can still go down as one of his generation's greats at his position. Which incidentally, he'll be able to play more now that his sidekick in the post isn't pseudo-big Andrea Bargnani.

Anyway, roles are going to be different so straight comparison are difficult. The Lakers are at their best when they are pounding the ball inside not watching Kobe dribble on the perimeter. The Heat will be better on the run and when the big 2 are creating.

I agree, but I think we'll be even better in the half-court than people realize. Bosh and James/Wade will work the pick-and-roll to beautiful, ruthlessly efficient perfection. Hell, I think so will James and Wade, much like we've seen Paul Pierce and Ray Allen do for the Celtics.

And I've seen so many critics talk about our options at center like the opposing team's guy is going to start the game by incapacitating ours at tipoff, leaving us to play 5 on 4. Let Dwight Howard "shut down" Joel Anthony in the post, or run out of the paint because he sees Mike Miller pump-fake a block opportunity -- I'm sorry, jumpshot -- before bounce-passing it to a driving James or Wade.

Yeah, our frontcourt is going to struggle rebounding somewhat (what's new?), but not only is Bosh already a huge improvement over Beasley in that department, James (and Wade, as we all know) is excellent at it for his position and now we can at least bring in Big Z if need be. But so many more shots are going to be going in for us (finally!), I'm not too worried about grabbing boards.

Gasol is the more complete passer. Better on defense in some regard and a better passer, while Bosh is the better offensive player.
